I hiked Great Falls, MD. Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Billy Goat trail 5.6 miles yesterday. I made the mistake of not bringing water. Felt dehydrated and was saved by a nice woman with an extra bottle of water.

I spent most of the week along the Kern river with some great friends. I have only been home one day and I already miss the river!

Saw this little sweetie above Mink Lake in Olympic National Park . So cute, at first she stood up to get a better look at us and later hid behind a bush peeking out to make sure we were leaving.

Hiking during hunting season, what is the best thing to do? I am heading off to an area I have heard is full of hunters this time of year. I don't own anything too terribly bright in color. I will hopefully have no issues but I wonder.

I went for a 12 mile walk on a bike trail yesterday. It is no substitute for hiking a good hiking trail in the woods. No comparing.

I have been building a boat just over a year. It was launched today. Found a few kinks to be worked out, nothing insurmountable.

Wow Lotta interesting and ambitious stuff here. I'm a dog-walker (so rarely more than 2-3 miles at a time) and a city-street cyclist (15-20 miles). And yet, it's moving that counts, right?

Photos from my short trip to Enchanted Rock. It was quite windy atop the summit and the park was crowded but I enjoyed exploring this giant pile of pink granite.

Hiking trip to Marquette, Michigan a few weeks ago. I’ve got less than 10 miles left to complete the Hike100NCT challenge this year. It gets harder to return to civilization after every trip. I can’t wait to get my van and go mobile for a bit.
