ELECTION 2020: Democracy Calls Us to Fight ‘Lesser of Two Evils’ Argument

Yet the truth is that the choice offered at an electoral arena is an illusion. In this corporate duopoly, American voters are held hostage by both parties. We know that a defensive style of voting has not produced the desired results: universal healthcare, ending war and military aggression, stronger environmental protection, and fair distribution of wealth. Yet, many Democrats swallow this painful fact by adamantly sticking to their party line that shifts the blame for their loss onto anyone but themselves.

{The American political system, from its very inception, was never intended to be democratic. It was designed to favor the elite rule of wealthy white men. Despite the noble ideals of the framers of the Constitution, the history of this republic contains internal contradictions and a dark shadow which has manifested in the genocide of natives, enslavement of blacks and suppression of women.

The Czech novelist Milan Kundera once said, “The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting.” }

{From “Hope and Change” to “Make America Great Again,” the system entices people to consume the illusion of choice, making them chase after ever-changing packages of political candidates who are essentially the same product. The glorious madness of red and blue fever sucks us into an insulated bubble of the American Dream, separating us from the daily experience of those who are impoverished, defrauded and dispossessed.}

The catch phrases will never end with their attempts to keep us trapped in a rabbit hole.

{“Cowardice asks the question, ‘Is it safe?’ Expediency asks the question, ‘Is it politic?’ Vanity asks the question, ‘Is it popular?’ But, conscience asks the question, ‘Is it right?’ And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one’s conscience tells one that it is right.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.}

It's well past time for us to make the Declaration of Independence righteous. It's past time for us to make The Constitution and Bill of Rights appropriately functional. The corporate ruling class have had plenty of time milking us to enrich themselves. It's time for society to stand up and end this game of injustice.

We know what Trump is about. Do you have the critical thinking to understand Biden's past? Do you actually know Biden's past to clearly think about it? Can you relate it to where we are today? If Biden wins will you become more willing to except the truth as he continues the same imperialistic path for capitalism? As 2024 becomes yet another useless vote for the lesser evil, will you finally have the courage to exit the 2 party establishment?

the average American has the illusion of freedom & that their vote matters.
really quite funny when you think about it.

As long as they keep limiting themselves to voting only for the pre-selected candidates of the two major parties, who are always corrupt and owned by the ruling class, their votes don't matter. If only most Americans would wake up to that and dump the duopoly.

I know I will be voting third party for prez next time if the Dems nominate their usual shitty candidate. In fact, now that I know Biden is likely to lose my state by several points, I already regret having voted a couple weeks ago for Biden.
