History's Lessons on Capitalism's Failures: Germany and US

On this week's show, Prof. Wolff evaluates capitalism by how it deals with Covid-19 and talks about Boeing's latest fatal crash. The second half of the show is dedicated to a major discussion of the causes of Hitler in Germany as offering clues to the rise of Trump and the assault on the Capitol.

What we did have were hospitals with various types of ventilators that weren't kept up to a proper functioning means, lacking parts, along with incompatibility due to various types of machines, leading to a total failure in the beginning of a crisis for a period of time where time couldn't be anymore urgent.

It's unacceptable for food prices to rise at such in a time as this dire time in society for profit.

In equality in our schools? Who's benefiting here, again? Who's paying for it, again? Who's the most likely to be sacrificed, again?

Should we be sacrificed for a profit for a very few? It's happening above and for Boeing. Means of production democracy in public transportation benefits our safety.

I often stress here the use of history towards the means of providing and supporting factual information I use. If you deny history of its lessons to correlate with todays events, you can easily be trapped in todays use of manufactured mis/disinformation. I seemingly can't or fail to stress appropriately, enough, how information today is being generated with agenda behind it. Such as my post before this one on the border issue should provide a sense of how history is currently facing an attempted erasure. Both on the concentration camp side and the actions that lead to these large types of immigrations. The issues were only brought up in 2016 to incite a movement to the right. Not because media has a sincere sense of empathy for immigrants, but how they could be used to propel the movement right for agenda and continuous party divide. While the border issue is drastically related to the actions of democrats in Latin America, Obama and Biden correlated to this there is silence. This is a reversal of the Reagan era to today in this arena. You have to ask why? To mask the agenda? Make the adjustment to understand.

I however disagree with Wolff. There is a socialist party we should be supporting within a mass exit of the established 2 party power structure. [wsws.org]

3rd parties, under our current system, are pipe dreams.

Congratulations. That's exactly how they want you to think. It's their false chosen rhetoric they manufactured and want you to help continue spreading for them. It's called conditioning. Say it enough and people will fall in line. Get enough people to say it and it becomes their failure. Thinking only inside the box they created for you. That's called an illusion. If enough people were to wake up and step out of their manufactured box of illusions to support a 3rd party we can win. Get enough people to wake up, the people win.

We proved that in 2016 when we thought we were supporting an establishment opposition opponent to the heights of winning that years primary. Even with a ridiculously lacking effort to produce a meaningful substantial opposing grounds of reasoning to be the voters choice, we took Sanders and placed him into a position to win that primary. I staunchly underscore "WE". Those who were seeking the change, we, made that possible. We made that possible because the establishment made one major mistake in thinking they had socialism contained. But I witnessed people of all races, political affiliations, and generations make changes to support Sanders, and those who came out in droves to show support for him.

The democrats had to resort to rigging and stealing the primary of 2016 to stop it. Then create a false Russian narrative to attempt to sweep it under the minds of the remaining citizens who might be susceptible to joining our movement. While Sanders had a double digit advantage of beating Trump. They had to stop a threat to capitalism. That's called a distraction. It's not a coincidence today that there's a constant mention and revived verbal cold war on socialism from our entire platform of representation. That's called perception management. It comes with a purpose to quell a new growing movement. It's literally a message to us that what we want will not be tolerated. Democracy is a hoax. And the only way to get out of this illusion is to mass exit their corrupt system, support and vote it out in droves like we did for the con artist Sanders.

@William_Mary LOL no, that's exactly how they want you to think. The pipe dream of a viable 3rd party keeps the most proghressive elements on the sidelines. And it's ironic that you want to take credit for raising Bernie's profile to a national while referring to him as a con artist.

And you don't even recognize the self-contradiction in saying we need to vote it out and claiming democracy is a hoax.

@1BrentMichael pipe dreams are that of the same failed results that occur over the same failed systemic actions. They've become futile. History and the present provides our side with the proof. Not seeing the failures, if that becomes your argument, then you're overlooking a great deal of society around you and great minds that support each other.

I spoke of we, not I. We have substantial reasoning based on history and the present that produce a critical theory. It was ironic of Sanders for his choices, but it was critical theory that we applied to those actions that are now his history that provided the factual contradictions. The contradictions were his. Ours to address with critical thought. He betrayed his promises and spoken ideology, therefore he also betrayed his supporters. He became the typical politician.

Democracy needs socialism as socialism needs democracy. There is no democracy when it's being controlled by a system built for the few. Therefore it IS a hoax. You yourself will attempt to oppress a 3rd party in compliant speak. Unwilling to recognize the power of a part of society seeking support for what most already speak for. Denial of their efforts to unify is a betrayal of the society around you. As you seemingly speak for the few and support their system within their managed perception.

We only wish to give democracy its full definition. Into all aspects of society. Politically, economy, workplace, Earth.

@William_Mary We don't have a democracy. And the idea that people will "mass exit their corrupt system, support and vote it out in droves" is a pipe dream, because every time that's been attempted, our system foils it.

I'm afraid only revolution is likely to fix our system, but not a revolution of the moronic QAnut version.

BTW, if by "typical politician" you mean one who recognizes that without compromise and major party support a politician cannot hope to accomplish anything, then you're correct.
