In retrospect, this post describes the fight of basically all Latin American countries, Cuba, and the Caribbeans.

A lot of people don't understand the issues especially in regards to what Chaves had when that revolutionary win was achieved in 1999. Chavez was also a Marxist minded president facing high poverty levels when he became president, vast literacy issues, healthcare problems. But he understood he had to work with a large rightwing corporate class of citizenship that basically held control of the country for quite a while. Government and military corruption within that would deliver a shock measure throughout the country as he proceeded. So he had to find a means to incorporate Marxism with the capitalism already within the country. Which still exist in Venezuela today. So when our medias tell you that Venezuela is a communist or socialist authoritarian country, it's mis/disinformation. And they use the factors of the actions the rightwing supporters commit to, and the barriers the corporations use to prevent a full implication of socialism.

I use to have a discussion with him where Chavez outlined it all but lost it in a bad laptop. And I haven't been able to find it since. Max Blumenthal spent some time in Venezuela back when the riots went on at one point when the US claimed Juan Guaido was the acting president of Venezuela over Maduro. If you remember that. Max went looking for socialism in a high society class mall but could only find capitalist businesses. It was a satire piece he put a show on to prove that Venezuela isn't just using their natural resources to fund socialism, but that capitalism plays a big role also. I can dig that up for you if it's still at the Grayzone site. It was rather comical, the responses he was getting from the people he was talking to while asking about socialism.

Anyways. Chavez cut poverty and cut literacy greatly. Made a deal with Cuba selling them cheap oil for healthcare help in regards to doctors coming in for a while, free schooling. Chavez also started a housing development of 3 million homes, which Maduro ended up finishing after his death, and continued towards another 2 million. Maduro also went to China to observe how their engineers were building their low housing structures to take back home. While China began using the community growth benefits Maduro began to fight hunger within all the sanctions against them.

These are factors that many of these countries are forced to contend with due to outside interferences, and the conservative sects left behind from European invasions over previous centuries. Chavez himself was a mix of European, African, and Latin American. But many of the conservative rightwing barriers to these countries are the white against the brown war which I'm sure you understand what side the whiter aspects of the citizenship side with. They're the implanted seeds rooted in of the enriched who like their western partners don't want the world to see how socialism can produce better societies. They serve as barriers. And NGOs and think tanks use them and their class supporters to create strife as needed.

Our medias were quick to mention the Venezuelans who would migrate to Columbia during the Chavez and Maduro eras at times, to the US occasionally, to hyperbole a mis/disinformation campaign of how bad it was there, but not mention the millions of Columbians who migrated to Venezuela and benefitted from the social programs they received when they arrived. If they actually expose that truth, it would diminish the hyperbole information line they deliver in regards to immigrants coming to the US. How can such a lowly poor country like Venezuela afford to take care of immigrants coming in, while our society is fighting over benefits given to immigrants coming here? Plus they don't mention that Venezuelans coming here to the US have a make up of being opposition of the government they left. Who work for NGOs and think tanks here, a number of that go to our collages. Live here to fight another day when needed.
