Black Agenda Report At the Belt and Road Journalism Forum in China
The 2025 Belt and Road Journalists Forum in China was an opportunity for Black Agenda Report to join an international group of journalists working to promote meaningful dialogue on world issues.
The invitation extended to Black Agenda Report to participate in the 2025 Belt and Road Journalists Forum , held in the cities of Nanchang, Jingdezhen, and Ganzhou in Jiangxi province China, was a testament to our 19 year history of providing “news, commentary, and analysis from a Black left perspective.“ Our work is appreciated nationally and internationally, and this columnist attended the Forum along with 100 media representatives from around the world. The Forum is a venue for journalists from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) nations, but Black Agenda Report was also included, the only outlet participating from the United States.
While the corporate media inundate the public with tall tales of spy balloons and claims that China is making nefarious purchases of U.S. farmland, that nation forges ahead in spite of futile U.S. efforts to diminish its economic prowess. Donald Trump's ever changing tariff policies resulted in China imposing tariffs of its own and buying soy beans from Brazil and beef from Australia when those commodities had long been a part of agricultural trade between the two countries. Joe Biden's attempt to stop China’s access to computer chip production resulted in new innovations like DeepSeek, which created a model for Artificial Intelligence that surpassed ChatGPT at a fraction of the cost.
With a couple of aspects highlighted above that correlate to my previous statements. The ignorance of the US citizenship in regards to China, due to our medias purposeful mis/disinformation campaign to benefit their owners, it only provides another avenue where many of us miss the decades of advancements our country has missed with a falsely manufactured enemy. Another example of why we can't trust our representation, and should be fuming in anger for the waste of treasury on unwarranted manufactured wars, one after another continuously. As China partners on a global scale leaving us behind.
BAR, the only US outlet to go to this forum? Because our medias wouldn't be allowed to expose the advantages China has over us. You have to use alternative medias to discover the real China. Where you would learn how deep the mis/disinformation about China is. I see their DC broadcast conducted by Americas nightly. I see Americans in their national news nightly. American's from American corporations. Groups, think tanks, delivering a completely different reality than our medias falsely project onto our society. Individuals who dive into their culture and historic senses. The innovative ways they mix their history to changing times. The mixture of regions full of the ancient times, and regions that appear to be so advanced that the future seems to already be there. They're living in the future today while we wallow in the depths of stagnation.
I can't tress how much importance there has been for me within observing other news platforms which have enlighten my abilities to discover how we are so deeply deceived by western governments and medias over the past 10 years. China's, Russia's, Latin America's. teleSur for Latin America. China's CGTN, where you do actually see the difference, is the largest provider of worldwide coverage I know. RT International covers all of Europe and Africa. Both China and RT with the best documentaries I've ever seen with no biasness to be seen. Where truth can only be seen in their support of factuality. If you want to really know what's going on on a global scale, these 3 news networks are where to learn it from. Where you get to use them to conform a real perception. Not one of brainwashed indoctrinations where the truth comes weeks, months, years later. Worse even, dying not knowing the truth. We have current events happening right now today that many are still wallowing in fake news and they can't be lead to the truth. Some of that bullshit has been going of for several years as some are still swimming in the shit.

I know people in Portland and LA so I knew right away the media coverage was BS, but try telling that to people hooked on American TV 'news'.
I know 2 people who have lived in China - one white, one Black, males, misogynist, anti-government, love guns and somewhat paranoid, they were basically interested in finding a nice, good looking looking subservient woman/wife. Not entirely unbiased. One did find a very nice, well educated, English as a second language, smart Chinese woman. Married her and brought her to American. He treated her like he has treated all his girl friends - BADLY.
Her opinion of China painted something in between your piece and American media.
The Black American probably ended up in a Chinese jail, no ones heard from him in many years.
I would not trust American media as far as I can spit, I guess it depends on how one can go about their day to day life, under the radar usually and right now many Americans thought they were under the radar of a government that wants a white only land of the free and the brave.

@silverotter11 I have a friend who is living and working in China, she's Hispanic and is teaching English to children that are in grade school. She's been doing this for years and was there during covid, she would post videos of her neighborhood and how they had to wear masks. There were not very many people out in the streets and she showed how bare the grocery stores were. She explained that in China you buy your groceries daily and the only protein that she was able to purchase was a whole dead duck. She said that you normally find ducks and chickens like that in the grocery stores but she said some have bent to the western ways and you could find chickens and ducks without the necks , heads and feathers. They also had a curfew during their lockdown, not much different than ours, but there's happened at the beginning of 2020 ours happened roughly 3 - 4 months after.
@michelle666gar I love duck! It does depend on what it has been fed, just like any animal raised for consumption. Asian countries do not have a problem with wearing a mask, before COVID winter flu season usually had people wearing masks when out and about, something to do with understanding germ theory I think - LOL.
I wonder how much the culture has an effect, the populace has always had a dominate leader, as has Russia. The people were never raised with the idea of a democracy, America has failed because it either did not teach the idea or as in the case of the south rewrote the issue of slavery, promoting white culture and 'their' Blacks 'knew' their place.
The patriarchal nature of Catholicism may explain why so many Latinos voted for trump and American Catholics for that matter.
With COVID Americans only went kicking and screaming to wearing a mask because stores made it manditory in order to enter. It did make it easy to identify the MAGA! LOL
Taiwan was the same, at the first hint of trouble in China and not getting any info from China and not trusting China at all Taiwan started their lock down and masking mandates right away.
The mortality numbers show the deaths in red states/counties were higher than the blue states/counties. I suspect we will that occur again when people are kicked off Medicaid and insurance.

@michelle666gar Oh! I know MAGATs around here who still do. In the 2026 mid terms they will vote GOP and then the cuts will really hit. That is the side of the GOP/trump that is truly evil, a lot of the cuts don't really kick in until after the 2026 mid terms. Just like they were warned in the 2024 election. The media sources never told them the facts, all the media had to do was convince them a smart Black woman was a laughing silly woman and they were all in for trump.

China has a museum in regards to the WWll era. I've spoken here occasionally about unit 731 which was a Japanese experimental program of chemical and biological crimes. Horrific shit went down. RT has a documentary on it I'll hunt down for you if you want me to. But Youtube has a few versions of it. But they don't want anyone to forget what happened and what the west became part of.

That's not all they did though. They also refused to allow Russia to be part of the trails for those who were captured and indicted. Same as with the nazis of Germany. They also brought the top brass and scientist to the US to continue their work. This set the stage for all the bio labs now spread around the globe, particularly now on a genetic agenda. In the youtube video they claimed that the US and China were allied in fighting the Japanese. Not in this particular region though. This was near the China and Russian border. The Japanese would cross the border and kidnap Russians. Like with releasing convicts and prisoners in Europe to fight the USSR towards the end of the war, the US was relying on the Japanese to diminish and weaken the USSR military in that region using what they called the million man army of Japan. But the USSR kicked their asses thoroughly. Like the concentration camps in Europe, the USSR troops liberated these units also. There were a hand full of these units in this region spread out among the villages. The USSR troops managed to capture some but many of the top officials and scientist got out in time to get away. WWll was never really about Germany. It was about the USSR. The end goal was the USSR using Germany. Which is why western governments and corporations rebuilt the German military against the WWl treaty accord. Which Germany is willing to attempt do again now as they're bucking to be the military of Europe. The European countries are making pledges to boost military spending not for just NATO and their own militaries, but to confront Russia. We're witnessing the same destruction of their economies and social structure seen in the ramp up of WWll. They're prepping for a war. A war they can and are blaming on Russia. Trump will find a way to fuck up the peace talks and blame it on Russia and Putin. The lines in regards to Putin and Russia have been made very clear, and they aren't going to change no matter what game Trump attempts to play. Trump playing the role of peacemaker while also shipping weapons to Ukraine is a sure indication that Putin isn't falling for the shit out of mouth Trump spews. But Putin has to play it out so he can show that there's never been a genuine attempt by Trump for peace. See Iran! Ask I ran how that worked out for them.
@FrayedBear back then we still had a democratic party with a small backbone. As mentioned in this article in regards to Carter and Leahy, we had Kerry in the 80's lead congress toward defunding Reagans Central American war weapons. In which again, Israel is said to have played a part in the routing of weapons to Iran from within the Iran-Contra Affair. No surprise there huh?
