I think it's already happening in terms of economics. More and more countries are trading oil in other currencies and dumping the dollar. Saudi Arabia and our military aggression toward other countries with oil is what's keeping us relevant.
Other countries will follow suit though. It's a coalition effort and agenda.
American policy has become incredibly insular in recent years, even more so with the Grump Administration. Bad policy, being narrowly focused and near-sighted can create the very conditions that another policy of the same governing body seeks to avoid.
