Going back to the mid 1990's when divisive politics really kicked into high gear there had already been active pushes against the benefits of democracy others beside just white folk were enjoying. It laid a ground work and with every financial disaster the poor got poorer, the disenfranchised feel further but it was always the 'others' who were the problem. Violent video games, lack of empathy and constant hammering on the other. By other I mean anyone not white or christian, exactly where we have been 'at war'.
