Wishful thinking. Any meaningful legislation will never get passed. At least not until every last penny can be made from fossil fuels.

Man, I'm becoming more and more of a cynic by the day. More than I already was lol

I wish the Green Party would infiltrate and take over the Democratic Party.
Ending the oil industry would put me out of the best paying job I’ve had, but it seems to me the industry will decline rapidly anyway.

Absolutely - and I’d probably be able to live at home, instead of commuting 500 mikes for a month at a time🙂

I don't think it's possible to infiltrate the Dem Party and change it. Change will have to come from outside the two major parties. That probably wouldn't even work. The concentration of power is just too great. You get a candidate that seems to want change and they are destroyed by the party with smears and propaganda or the election gets rigged in favor of the establishment candidate. Even if they did take the presidency, they wouldn't get any meaningful legislation passed. They wouldn't just be fighting the Reps, but also their own party members in the Dems. Plus, 3rd parties have been trying forever and never have cracked through. They have to deal with the two parties smearing them and also the propaganda on citizens that makes them believe a 3rd party can't win, and once again even if they did win, the majority of the House and the Senate would probably still be Dems and Reps and they wouldn't pass anything. I'd hate to be Mr. Cynical, but it seems futile. What could be done? The intelligence agencies are on the establishment status quo side. The media as well.

Call me Mr optimist, but I think we’re seeing the “greening” of the Democratic Party. This incoming class in the house is far more in line with Green Party values. Ultimately this is dependent on what we will allow.
