UN Torture Report: ‘Demonized’ Assange Has Faced ‘Psychological Torture’
The UN special rapporteur on torture has blasted four nations for imposing psychological torture on Julian Assange.
‘A Relentless and Unrestrained Campaign of
Public Mobbing, Intimidation and Defamation’
Warns of ‘Criminalization of Journalism’
Assange is held up to be a hero, when it was Snowden who risked everything to highlight the issues of atrocities and extensive surveillance, which is a threat to liberty.
Assange's so-called psychological torture was self-imposed, when he fled to the Ecuadorean Embassy, rather than submit to the rule of law and to answer the the rape allegations against him.
The truth of the matter is that he was not man enough to face the charges that were properly held against him. He was quite happy making money out of the information that he got from Snowden and did so to gain his fame and fortune, knowing full well what the US reaction would be to this exposure of their acts.
Whilst such action that he faced was vindictive and excessive, he could have chosen to have leaked this information anonymously but, no, he wanted fame and wealth. These were his motives; there was nothing noble about them. What is highlighted is the fact that the US is more dictatorship than democracy.
It's probably not going to happen, but I can only hope Assange put away some great information to be released in the event of his death. I can't see why he would wait to release it if he has some damning information, but you never know.
He did offer to help in the investigation. Neither Comey or Mueller took the initiative to go see him! That's a fairly loud statement to what that investigation meant. And what its purpose was.
@William_Mary I can't believe some people think that's ok.
