I'm not going to lie, but this is a rough read. I've been reading it off and on, and I'm only done with chapter 1, but it's tedious and it seems Marx could have severely condensed his thoughts and still gotten his points across because there is a lot of repeating it seems. It's a lot of words to say little and the same thing. Hopefully it's just because it's chapter 1. It's worse than reading a school textbook.
Capitalism is an economic system. Socialism is a political system. When we combine the two we birth fascism or as it can now be called, trumpism.
I'm siding with Chavez's theory. I posted a video on, of, him a while back, I wish I had saved it, of when Venezuela was going through it's most successful period of change. There is a proper mix of capitalism and socialism that can be accomplished that benefits all of society. And also allows the population to participate in politics to their full interest. Especially locally. It was indeed working in Venezuela. But as goes with humanity, the divisions caused by class warfare, misuse of capital globalism, primal instincts of tribalism, greed of money and power, a working socialized society will not be tolerated. The majority of the population must be as slaves to the few by any sense manageable.
