Does America Have Capitalist Stockholm Syndrome?

Why Are the Fiercest Defenders of Capitalism Those Who’ll Never Be Capitalists?

[eand.co]

{So the fiercest everyday defenders of capitalism in America are those who’ll never be capitalists— in fact, they seem to be those who are being exploited by capitalists.}

The fact everyone tries so hard to turn away from the social aspect of their everyday lives is futile. Seriously, you can't be that ignorant as to not admit to its existence. Or can you!?! So when our government attempts to control a "socialist" country, Venezuela for example, they ignorantly fall for the false narrative missing the capitalist part of their system. The difference between the US and Venezuela is that capitalism is a system that exploits us in the US, where in Venezuela it's managed to serve a better society. Within a more balanced use of nationalized natural resources within a corporate system. Only when a corporation is found to become out of line, legally or harming society, does the government step in.The capitalist are actually using socialism against us while denouncing it!

{Marx was wrong about many things. There’s no glorious communist revolution}

The writer obviously isn't well educated on Marx here. Or he's attempting to structure a false narrative for some reason. Marx was never one to argue communism within his/a revolution that I'm aware of. Communism by most economist would relate communism with a collaboration more to the state running the economy and a large part of corporations, such as China and the old USSR. Marx's theory was a more balanced working of the people having a democratic voice in the means of production and economy. Which would deliver more people into politics such as what has made Venezuela so successful since the Chavez era. Maduro has made great strides in developing social programs expanding society into grassroot elections to reinstate especially the cultural and arts aspects of the country lost before the Chavez movement. You simply can't have a successful social society based only on the means of production if you allow government and corporations to work against you. Which is Venezuela's current down side, the corporate entity that is, let alone interference from the western capitalist.

I'll be curious to see, as I read on, as to if he offers a better system being he is denouncing both capitalism and communism, out of ignorance. Seriously, what else is there that hasn't been complete failures and or tied to various types of capitalism throughout history as we have learned from Richard Wolff.

I might at this time remind you, capitalist make their money off the market. The fact that capitalism is used to describe our economy is a oxymoron to be quite frank. Much of our terminology in politics are oxymoron's. Democrats don't have a rats ass concern to democracy. And conservatives don't give a rats ass about conserving for the benefit of the people or for democracy either. And if you think we live in a republic system of any type, I'm sorry for you.

And of course, he didn't. Just abruptly ends the piece really. But a good point is made.

The American Dream. They one day hope to be billionaires with hard work lol

I play the lottery to! 😟

@William_Mary Lol I only play it when it's like $300m+. Maybe twice a year and it costs me $4. That's not thinking I'm going to get rich by working hard though lol

Your penultimate paragraph is totally correct ... well it appropriate for Canada and no doubt for Britain. Even in the latter the Labour Party hardly believes in true socialism. Capitalist greed is such a societal motivator. Conservatives don't conserve, they destroy. Your democrats are a corporate party like our ruling Liberals.
