Here's another scam thought for you on the primary. Another 2 candidates dropped out after SC. Everyone who has voted from Iowa to Saturday just lost their democracy on those who dropped out. Their vote and any donations in vanity. Although the DNC thanks you for your donations.
We need term limits on every political office at every level of government. It will help, but not totally fix the problem of corruption in government, people will learn to game any system.
No, we need to unite behind a real peoples party! There's a dozen more waiting in line to fill the shoes of the one leaving.
Money money money
That was from "Cabaret" great movie about the early start of the Nazi regime. Thanks for the memory - hmm sounds familiar.
@JackPedigo One of my all time favs. Liza does' Life is a Cararet old chum come to the cabaret . . . ' so i tried to live love and enjoy. My motto, If I ain't enjoying myself I'm outta here.
@silverotter11 Very good motto and a god one to follow at our stage of life. So how is that working with some, you know who, posts here???
@JackPedigo I have only blocked one person and he was messaging me nd just had to get the LAST word in so I was forced to really. Otherwise if a comment involves name calling, denigrating my opinion , etc. I simply point out that that behavior does not contribute to good conversation and if they can not add something constructive or intelligent to the conversation or topic at hand shut the fuck up.
There is one south boy (man?) who claimed swearing is a sign of a lack of a good grasp of the english language. To be honest he can string some words together pretty good which was why I added him to my list of people I follow. For some reason he took to being VERY critical of many of my posts and even when I asked why he appears to take pleasure in denigrating my comments he did not respond. So the next time he pulled that shit I said "Well bless your heart!" His comment to that told me he got it and then I unfollowed him and he has not bothered me since.
@silverotter11 I understand your point completely. It might be harder for women than men as I have found completely ignoring the jerks will make them quit all their crap and go away. I can't think of anyone I have blocked. The 'you know who' I was referring to is tRump. It can be hard to live and enjoy life with him and his ilk constantly lapping at out heels.
As you I prefer peace, harmony, fun and calmness in my life. There are those that love 'drama' and they seem to always try and inflict lifestyle that on others.
Liked your example. Sometimes it takes some imagination to remove the pain in the asses from our lives.
@JackPedigo As Dorthy Parker said, "Those born to the storm find the calm boring." I am not a crisis junkie. trump is a serious problem and sadly I was talking to a woman who given her comments in the past lead me to believe she was not republican. Today she flat out said she supports trump and I asked her why and she said he is the first president with any balls. No trump has tiny balls and a loud mouth not attached to any functioning grey matter. I did not say that to her I did say he has serious mental health issues but she does not think it's a problem. LOST all respect for the woman.
@silverotter11 Sounds like this is common east of the "Cascade Curtain". I have yet to meet a tRump supporter here. But they do exist but mostly underground.
BTW, I saw this and was meaning to ask if you knew of these stones. [pbs.org]
@JackPedigo I love Nick on the Rocks. I've also spend hours watching his lecture videos that are produce here in Ellensburg. I've even met him at his office at CWU. A neighbor here in the comples is a rock hound and has found some lovely green stone that Nick talked about in one of his videos. Now the andstone and shales from up around Roslyn I am not familar with. I know the back story on how the Teanaway Community came to be. I know who owns most of the water rights from the forest land, a corrupt developer, but I don't know those rocks . The geology of eastern wa is very interesting.
Did you ever watch the show Norhern Exposure? If you did do you remember the episode out the cow fling? The large trebouche you see in that episode a friend of mine (he's the mayor of Cle Elum) helped build it. I knew some of the locals that were used as extras and of course have eaten at the Brick Tavern where many scenes were shot.
@silverotter11 Have to laugh. I loved Northern Exposure (don't remember the cow fling, though). Presently watching re-runs of "Numbers" and the Dr. is the head FBI guy in Numbers. Also, we have the DVD's of "Northern Exposure" in our library. Once, we (my former partner and daughter) were going on a 'dam' vacation (Rocky Reach - which I love) and the Grand Coulee. I saw the sign for Roselyn and quickly made a U-turn. The others wonder what the hell I was doing but when they saw the camel they knew. We had lunch in the Brick with a group of motorcyclists. Good memories.
@JackPedigo I did watch a few episodes of that show, I enjoyed it and yes the same actor in nNumbers played Dr. Joel Fleishman in Northern Exposure.
@silverotter11 Thanks, I had forgotten his name.
In my opinion what is happening is that the DNC is insistent on "business as usual" and they do not like anything or anybody who is progressive. Obama even warned us all to avoid things progressive. Isn't that just wonderful. It worked out great in the last election. So now, we have Mayor Pete and others dropping out. What these candidates would hope for is that someone actually getting the nomination would keep them in mind for some office and appointment and they could stir their supporters towards the stronger candidate. There we go. Business as usual again. (Hello, Trump. Welcome back..)
The tide has turned slightly with Bloomberg in the race. To me it means that we have to acknowledge that money is behind all of this and "we the people" are now being offered a choice of which type of oligarchy we want to control us. Whatever happens we are still the product. I think many of us know this deep down and that fact is at the base of a lot of the anger that I see. Our "rulers" cannot be honest with us and we know it but we cannot admit it.
