Boron trace mineral
Thank you. I recently got a hair density test which is good for tracing elements and minerals in our hair. Boron is on the list and I have 0.79 out of a range of 0.40 - 3. Mixed nuts are a part of my diet.
I take calcium,D3 & boron to get that knee and fibula to heal up. I am sharing this because it was
what my orthopetic surgeon recommended.
You don’t usually hear of an MD even suggesting
natural solutions.
There is a real discussion on how Calcium is taken. Carbonate is not supposed to be as good as Citrate. I have mild osteoporosis in my left hip but rely on weight bearing exercise to deal with it. Citrate can aggravate acid reflux so I now take a combination of Calcium-Zinc-Magnesium. It is also said supplements aren't nearly as good as natural sources.
True about doctors but I found if one ask doctors about lifestyle changes they will tell you. Many get insulted when they recommend lifestyle changes.
@JackPedigo
I forgot that I also take magnesium with all of that. Thank you for sharing that information about the citrate, I didn’t know.
I wasn’t doing all of that before, but my Dr said that it was just to get me through the healing process, that I need extra of all those things.
I figured that with my diet I didn’t need it, but I don’t plan on staying on all of that.
Do you take a D3 with the Calcium-Zinc-Magnesium?
@Wildgreens I do take D3 2000 units. However, I alternate days. One day Calcium... and the next day D3. Living so far north, especially in the winter we don't get a lot of sun so we need supplements. Also, I read (often a lot of information comes from a group, "People's Pharmacy" that Magnesium helps in sleep. My late partner had a test and was found to be deficient in Magnesium so mush that she had to get an injection of this element.
