Lots of independent studies have shown the harm from GMO's. But it doesn't seem to stop industry from continuing to produce them under the guise of helping to feed the world.

Those that control the money control the world.
@Wildgreens Years ago a group of us (amateur orchardists) made a trip to Italy to study their farm practices. We met with a group of researchers in a university and they all waxed proudly on their working very hard to create herbicides and pesticides for farm/fruit products. They also complained that the average farmer did not appreciate them. Our group was not commercial and only work with organic methods and were laughing (inside) at them. Some people are so focused on a mission they fail to see the bigger picture. Many GMO researchers actually feel they are helping feed starving people (and,in a way they are). This is just another example of how our population have surpassed the carrying capacity of many places on the Earth and need 'technology' simply in order to eat.
