Berries are native in this area. I am waiting for some raspberries as my Gooseberries are getting ripe. I combine the 2 to make a Gooseberry/Raspberry preserves. Our local labyrinth has a strawberry garden. Strawberries come in several varieties: regular which bear once and the ever bearing and what is known as "Day Neutral". [homeguides.sfgate.com]

@Sheannutt My problem is that I like to can and have far more than I can use. I often give some away as gifts. Chunky, spiced Applesauce, Applebutter, canned plums, pears in wine, Gooseberry/raspberry, Aronia berry, Ginger/Rhubarb and Strawberry/pear to name some.
@Sheannutt Late Spring, summer and Early Fall are crazy here. You should know your from a similar region.
@Sheannutt I remember Grants Pass. 12 years ago we got lost trying to connect to Crescent City. It was getting dark and no one in the car (5) except me could read a map. I was the driver so there was a lot of stress. That continued through the whole trip to LA and back.
@Sheannutt Oh I forgot to mention they were my partner's family and all I heard the whole time was Farsi. I was truly a chauffeur.
