Hi vegans, just joined today after talking to @ardentatheist in the foodie group and would like to learn about some basic vegan dishes. Now, I'm not vegan, I do eat meat, but would like to slowly add some meatless Monday's, or Tuesday's to my overall diet.. Thx?

One of the best vegan meats IMO is vegan sausage. You can get it many places (Kroger, Wal-mart, etc). It cooks up really well, and you can easily make a burrito or put it in your pasta sauce.

Well I've certainly heard of tofu, but in a burrito. Sounds interesting, but how do I prepare the tofu, a little apprehensive since I've never worked with it.

If you are going to eat meat for a while, why not organic if you do it fried use a very good organic oil like, olive, safflower, coconut and peanut are some that come to mind. When you eat organic as they call it, but not quite honest. The tell you grass fed, no antis-The one some do not report on meat and no pesticides! Some use pesticides but don't tell you.com/read the damn labels.

ant eat less. I can go long periods of times before I get some craving. The more you remove meat be eating less, the less you want it and believe it or not, my gosh it must be great to be a good vegan cook, because it is a my tastier way to eat! The food is incredible.

Good plan, that is how I started, and I just eat less meat all the time.
