Does the actual plant give you heartburn or the actual oil? Yes it is great to keep pests away.
@Wildgreens Things like peppermint gum and other things that contain mint. My late partner loved mint and used it in her cooking. It didn't seem to bother me then. Also, mint can be an invasive. I have spent a couple of years trying to reign it in.
I'm a peppermint addict, enjoyed seeing this.
