Humans do not need to eat the bodies of dead animals to survive. It’s a choice. To close ones eyes to the horror of what animals go through is heartbreaking to me. They love, feel pain, and joy in life just as we humans do.

I agree, there’s no need to be cruel.
When I got together with my 2nd partner she informed me she would not eat pork as she had too much admiration for the pigs intelligence. This was in Germany and a lot of things come from pork so it was a sacrifice for her. After we returned to the US we started hearing more and more about the meat industry and slowly eliminated meat from our diet. It was relatively easy but just took a while to overcome years of habit.
