I try to avoid all forms of sugar in my diet. Including organic or raw sugar, honey, maple syrup, agave, molasses and all corn syrups. I use zero calorie Stevia sweetener instead of sugar and try to find products that don't contain sugars. It is sad...

Memorial weekend is the traditional start for our South-Central Alaska garden season. It is strange to see everybody rush to get their gardens planted as quick as possible and most garden centers will be sold out in a week. We have had several weeks ...

Planted 36 broccoli starts today. All watered in and I added my moose cages to make sure they will survive our giant Alaska garden pests. I love broccoli and it grows very well up here.

...and yes - it is a long strange trip with no end in sight.

I finally dug out my giant overgrown Alaska Rhubarb plant and divided the rootball. It was bolting every year and producing giant seed pod flowers. I think I got 8 smaller divisions and will plant a few around my yard. Can you have too much Rhubarb ...
