This chart for Boomers ?
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 6, 2018:
I was born in '55, right smack in the middle of it. My ex-wife was born in '62, and while technically in the boom, she said she didn't feel like a -boomer.

Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 6, 2018:
Both of my dogs are rescues, though I don't think they were abused. A long time ago I rescued a cat that was living in the basement of the factory I worked in, and she had one eye ripped up, probably in a fight. After the visit to the vet, it was almost a week before she would come out of hiding and interact with us. She became a very good cat, and was a great hunter, which sometimes bothered me.

What does it really mean to love , and what does it mean to be in love with another?
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 6, 2018:
A few years ago, I was divorced after 35 years, and it was very hard to deal with. I'm still not completely over it. Luckily, it was an amicable divorce. She is 7 years younger than me and had things she felt she needed to do for herself, after so long as a wife and mother, which I understood, though it didn't make it any easier. Yes, I have been reassessing what love means, and what it is to love another person. Let me know if you figure it out, because I haven't.

Why Do People Get Upset When You Question Their Beliefs?
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 5, 2018:
When people hold beliefs that they feel are a core part of themselves, they will defend them till the end, regardless of how irrational they are. They feel you are questioning their deepest self instead of just their thoughts or beliefs. They see it as an attack. I don't understand it, myself, but I can see how they might feel that way. It's a delicate operation to get people to change their minds.

There's a state park near here that we used to go to every year in early June, after the kids got out of school (and since I worked in the schools, I could get time off easily then). We stayed in cabins there, most times with my brother and his wife and niece. No phones and no TV, lots of hiking, exploring, and sitting around the campfire. I always took my guitar. We missed a few years here recently, but we're going for the weekend this Saturday. Looking forward to it. Sounds like you had a great time.

Why does it take so long to get over someone?
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 4, 2018:
That's a good question. Could it be habit? You are used to thinking of them (good or bad) and the habit is hard to break. Also, I've noticed, in trying to get my ex-wife out of my head, that it's useful to find someone else to think about, even if it's an imaginary relationship. Of course, that imaginary relationship has to have some sort of emotional weight, or it's just an airy dream.
The joy of planning a wedding.
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 4, 2018:
Go to court? Of course, you'd have to find someone to make your cake first. The whole thing is stupid. So, a Jewish baker could refuse a cake for a Christian wedding? Or a Muslim baker could refuse a cake for a Jewish couple? What about racists and non-white people? I can't believe they could be so short-sighted as to allow this!
Worth airing this oldy but goodie...
