I blame Foreigner for a lot of things. Thanks to them I'm Cold as Ice while at the same time, Hot Blooded. I wanted to be a Jukebox Hero, but That was Yesterday. Now I'm just a Dirty White Boy with Double Vision playing Head Games while Waiting for a Girl Like You.
When I meet an immigrant or tourist I always welcome them to "my country". Especially in this difficult time for them which is usual in our history. My sister from a different mister is a permanent resident from Mexico who is half black, so she has been excluded by the racists on both side of the border. I have tried to show her that there has always been an atmosphere of exclusion in our history. From our unique system of slavery based on race. The Chinese exclusionary act. Japanese American internment. Genocide of our indigenous peoples. Irish fleeing the potato famine, Jews fleeing the National Socialists, DPs (displaced persons) from Poland, Cuban Marielitos. It seems to be a human trait that America excels at. I would like to see us not be so good at it.
Ah the centuries old game of “ those people did it! “
I know that we should be above this kind of behavior but we’re not new to this and we’re not the only ones guilty of it at this current time in history either.
But once again our conditioning has led us to ignore that we are all human from birth and even way after our passing and for some reason we have decided that what matters most is our skin color, religion and ancestors place of origin.
Maybe it’s our desire to achieve superiority or the centuries of conquest and enslaving others that’s responsible. Either way we’ve most likely have destroyed any possible evolutionary growth or least thousands of individuals that could’ve actually provided the knowledge or the means to save ourselves and our planet.
But let’s make sure that we celebrate each and every ethnic holiday that applies to us before we all cook to death. ??????
Yes...the reason there are so many foreign doctors is that few Americans have the intellect to become doctors...or am I missing something?
Maybe. But in large part it is the cost and student debt and the lack of giving scholarships to deserving young people.
@Beowulfsfriend I agree...my post was meant to be facetious. More Americans should be getting the education to become doctors.
