Why would we support Israel? Because it is the ONLY democracy in the entire area. Princes, dictators, sheiks & kings surround them. The Arab Israelis vote & they do not seek refugee status. Hamas controls Gaza where they launch first strikes. Israel does not stone its women. Or require head coverings. Or prevent them from driving. Or require them to have a man accompany them on trips out of the country. Or require their business to shield them from street views. . Jordan is Palestine via Britain's colonial abandonment required by FDR in order to enter WW2. Pro democracy. Pro woman Pro Israel

Your one of the few sensible ones in this group on this issue.

98% of Somali women are genitally mutilated. She might take up that cause as it is illegal in Israel.

And anti-Israel is a problem because....?
I for one find this country, where college puts kids in debt for Decades, sending $$$ to Israel, where college is Free, appalling.
Although of course the money goes to weapons for gunning down Palestinians.....

I have to go with sleepless in Texas the old white guys is getting old really really quick.

I like her! I'm not a fan of Israel either.

It's not a bad place for her and her heritage can almost guarantee us her remarks and beliefs. One big problem of "American Israelism"as I call it is that bible believing Americans were helpful in Israel becoming a state in the first place. This would apparently set the right people in power and also enhance biblical belief. We should note that Israelis do not see this in the same light as we do. We should also note that there was an old idea that Palestinians could get their own state also if they were just be "good little boys." There's no land to give and it will never happen. This is also why their will never be peace in the Middle East. America should never have taken a side.

Better to have her on the House Foreign Affairs committee to provide another point of view rather than the committee be completely full of Christians. Let's have some diversity in our government!

Also, to the people who are saying she's anti-semitic or is justifying terrorism, you are all talking out your asses until you provide a link that proves this.

I see no difference in the comparison, Israel is treating the Palestinians as if they are squatters on their own land. The American Indians are a good analogy! So you expect an Islamic person to be in favor of Israel?

BillF Level 7 Feb 1, 2019

So what do you advocate? Maybe we should just leave and give the land back to the Indians.

@Trajan61 No, recognize the behaviour and not repeat it. The pilgrims started with the smallpox blankets and confining the Palestinians in an area without the ability to farm, conduct business and import food is repeating that behaviour. And then acting surprised when they lash back!

@BillF The Muslims attack Israel all the time and are only interested in the destruction of Israel as they refuse to even adknowledge Israel’s right to exist. Israel is fully justified in attacking the Palestinians.

@Trajan61 Read the history, Israel was made out of arab land, then moved and started taking arab land, bulldozing olive groves that are hundreds of years old and under cultivation by the same family! I would be attacking them to!

Yes, espescially at this time in our and Isreal's time in history. Have stop our move towards fascism and Isreals toward apartheidism.

While remains important to support the existence of the state of Isreal, that does not mean that we have support the present iteration of their government. Isreal and Republicans do not get the right to call anti-Semitism just because we do not agree with Isreal's present policy choices.

Yes. We do. We've been overrun by reactionaries in the Congress for far too long. Criticizing Israel (whether right or wrong) is far more consistent with the reality than praising Kim Jong Un as a great leader. Now THAT is "radical" and he sits in the White House.

@Bobby9

  1. I was responding to that stupid meme. If that was the least of the problem, then this is even more stupid than it first appears.

  2. What about it? Why don't you first tell me how you think she "rationalized terrorism" because I don't think we currently share the same definition of those words, let alone the same frame of reference.

This.

@Bobby9 If we continue to allow those Muslims to come here we will have the same terriorist problems they have.

Yes, @Bobby9. Listen to your non-radical friend, @Trajan61.

My last question, directed to no one in particular, is this: is he just a troll or is he actually a racist?

Kim Jong Un has stopped shooting Rockets off with regularity and scaring his neighbors. They are talking about peace now. What’s so radical about that?

@Bobby9 Did you just read what you wrote up there? Do you see the fundamental problem with your logic? Have you ever had a Christian tell you that God obviously exists because the Bible tells us so? I don't have enough time in the day to waste on this anymore. Good luck.

I don't have enough education on the subject to have a strong opinion but I am pretty sure anti Israel isnt the same as Antisemitic. I have get the feeling that those aligned with civil rights seem to be uncomfortable with Israeland the religious right is for it. Also the anti Muslim people seem to be for it. I've seen alot of memes like this but it mostly seems to be from racists who don't like Muslims in government. The same ones that make those posts about muslims and animal sex. Very racist. I don't have respect for it.

MsAl Level 8 Feb 1, 2019

That’s not a meme. It’s from the news. She is also very antisemite.

@Trajan61 Meh.. Its from Fox. Also it seems more like a Meme to me. It's a picture with a statement not a link to an article.

@MsAl You must be listening to CNN or MSNBC.

A link to the actual article would be good too. I I'd like to see what it was she did or said in this instance.

That woman advocated leniency against Muslim terriorist. Just what we need an antisemite who wants to be leinent on Islamic terriorist.

@maturin1919 Shd has made antisemite remarks.

I am not Israeli, I am not Palestinian... so I don't have an opinion on that line. Now, if an elected official is whatever background that's fine but work for your American constituents. THAT is the job !!!!!!!

So you have no problem with a person who is calling for the destruction of Israel on the foreign affairs committee?

@Trajan61 Of course I do, in a sense that her job as a Foreign affairs committee officer is to protect American interest abroad, not to steer personal agendas. That's what's wrong, as I see it.
