Yes .I do not want these woman hating homophobic lowlife archaic religious fanatic morons in my vicinity so they can have the opportunity to indoctrinate more weak minded nitwits .

Intolerant ignoramus much?

5

America, will end up like the UK, muslims wanting more mosques, women scareing your kids dressed in burkas, and want the rest of the world to be Muslim as soon as possible.

Of course you are correct .They are already taking over towns and business and pushing out small American businessmen .See video a member put on this post

Do nuns or monks scare your kids or other peoples children? I understand what you're saying, but one can make something like this a "teachable moment." You could say, "Yeah, those are (of whatever religion) they like to wear funny clothes" Of course one would tailor the remark to the age and developmental understanding of the child.

Listen, first let's solve the radical Christian problem.

Their numbers are far greater and they are far more harmful to America. I'm not afriad of a few hundred thousand Muslims refugees or immigrants. That less that 1% of our population! And our government does a thorough job vetting immigrants and refugees.

I am afraid of the MILLIONS of homegrown radical Christians living in America who seem to want to write Christian laws into the American system through politics and child indoctrination.

Islam is an ideology in addition to religion. Is there any people that we should not let into the USA?

How long do you think a few hundred thousand Muslims will take to multiply like rats.Islam is the fastest growing religion.Their numbers will grow like an invasive species that start off in small numbers and soon overtake and destroy their surroundings

@richiegtt Well said, my friend.

5

Criticizing a horrible religion is not the same as racism. There is only one race, the human race. However, there good religions and bad religions. The best religions are peaceful, like the Jaynes (jainism)

For a brief second there I thought you made a Firefly reference. Lol

@MakeItGood I guess I am out of the loop. I have no idea what that means.

@K9Kohle789 Well said. Religion is a delusion.

5

I'v heard it said "there are no stupid questions". Well there goes another cliche..

5

I thought it was pretty clear that we have freedom of religion in the US? (And freedom from religion, well in theory anyhow.)

I'm no more threatened by Islam than I am Judaism or Buddhism. (Christianity though, tends to like to get into my business and that of every American.)

5

That is contrary to the values that our country were built and based upon. Most make good citizens.

Right now white nationalists are a bigger problem that Muslims. Most Muslim immigrants go through two years of vetting prior to being allowed come here, (despite what ignorant republicans claim). White nationalists can immigrate with practically no vetting at all. They get in simply because from a European country and are white.

It is easy to agree with you. The radical white nationalists are as bad as Muslim terrorists and worse with regard to domestic terror. I really will never understand the big problem with skin color and facial features. There is only one race, the human race. I think religious differences are a greater hindrance than race or wealth.

@Grecio

Agreed

5

If you voted yes or maybe to this you have never had a conversation with a Muslim much less a Muslim friend. I have. Lots of them and I prefer them to the knuckle dragging neanderthal bigots.

I could have a Muslim friend as long as I believed that he doesn't follow Sharia and believe in jihad, and want to cut my head off on television, or blow my children up with a suicide bomb.

@Grecio I feel the same way about knuckle dragging neanderthal redneck bigots.

5

The amount of time and money we spend on fighting immigrants, trying devise schemes about who deserves what about immigration, and enforcing all the petty rules and regs, is just grand standing. It's a huge failure and a waste of money. Its like the war on drugs. It allows for moral huffiness from a minority of hateful and racist Americans. Its embarassing that we fund the crap we currenly fund, much less overt uneducated prejudice that this post represents. Throw money at cops that actually protect citizens, or homeless shelters, or VA healthcare, or something useful.

5

Their children with be incorporated. Statistically if they walk away from Islam, they become atheists.

You mean if their family doesn't kill them, right??

@Grecio You are so ignorant it is unbelievable, honour killing is world wide and is cultural not religious, Islam expressly forbids it. It is found among Sikhs and Hindus, Christians, Muslims even Buddhists.
In the (white) west it has been known since Roman times in Italy and still goes on today in older parts of France, Holland especially around the Mediterranean. In the USA it has been known among more extreme religious factions especially among the Amish.
Since 2001 (coincidentally?) almost all widely reported incidents of honour killings have been in regard to Islam, sometimes even when they were not.

"Should the USA try to keep all religious nutcases our of their country? And while we are about it, should the USA expatriate all its own religious nutcases?"

4

Choice #5: Should the US stop destroying countries around the world, thereby creating the refugees that this thread complains about?

You make a good point. However, ruthless dictatorships are a lot of the problem. Also, ruthless religious governments cause a lot of exoduses. Why don't young men stay in their country and try to fix it instead of running away?

@Grecio The US supports the Islamic fanatics in Syria and Libya that drive people away. Easy to say "stay there" when it's not you who's under threat. If we don;t want refugees, we have to oppose imperialist war - and climate change.

@Krish55 I can't see what this has to do with climate change.

4

I find it discriminatory to say "NO Muslims" but I agree that their ideology is dangerous because their politics and religion are one in the same. They don't believe in separation of church and state. I don't understand any person who wants to live in another country, but exactly the way they were living before. It makes no sense to me unless they have other motives, ... like turning the world Muslim by force if necessary.

4

It's interesting that ordinary USA citizens are not required to agree to obey the US constitution. Elected leaders and maybe judges are required to take an oath to defend the constitution. I don't suppose leaders are required to believe in everything the Constitution stands for. I guess the Constitution is a "living" document that can be changed with time. I know there are many homegrown Christians that don't believe in the separation of church and state. They want the government to be run by Christian leaders.

4

Shouldn't keeping White Supremacists out be added to the question?

The problem is most of our terrorists are homegrown, and we even have one in the White House.

OK, let's keep all the religious crap out. However, I don't see Christians cutting off heads on video, stoning women for being raped, or killing apostates. It seems at least most Christians do believe in the separation of church and state, but we better keep an eye on that, too.

@Grecio I said white supremacists not Christians .

4

Do you mean, should Americans try to keep Muslims out of the USA?

No, I don't think so. It's unconstitutional to favor one religion over another.

We don't need the Constitution to say "keep bad ideologies out" Sharia law is a bad idea. Killing apostates, cutting off heads on TV, and stoning women because they were raped all are bad ideas.

@Grecio
True, sharia law is backward and its adherents are dangerous thugs. Christians are also known to have done some very bad things in the name of God, and you don't have to go all the way back to the Crusades or the Inquisition to find them. Witness the genocide committed by Serbian Christians in the 1980s. To me, lining up and shooting unarmed civilians just because they are Moslems is right up there with beheading journalists or stoning fornicators.

@Flyingsaucesir You make some good points.

4

There have been many young muslims who have become atheists after being given freedom of thought outside of their country of origin...
They have seen what religion on both sides are guilty of and have turned away from it

4

I thought the Statue Of Liberty sonnet says something about welcoming everyone.

Perhaps the statue got mis-delivered!

4

I say welcome them, educate them, have them assimilate, then let them walk away from religion on their own.

The problem is they generally hang together forming their own communities and never assimilate. Also Islam is a very violent religion.

@Trajan61
I don't disagree about Islam...saw it up close and personal. However, people do assimilate and adopt the American culture. I know, you're going to bitch and moan about barrios or some shit, but the Irish, Germans, Polish, Italians, and others (so many of them are white, huh) all started out with their own communities and then ventured out. Some still remain in those communities, but you don't whine about them like you do others. Hmmm, there were some from Oklahoma in the 30s that left because it was a worthless dust bowl (ain't much better these days) and many ended up in California of all places. Huh, it's like there's a pattern of people moving for a better place and opportunities and then adjusting.

@dokala I can't help it, I am just against religious people that cut captives heads off on television, kill apostates, try to take over another country to covert it, and stone women to death.

@dokala, @K9Kohle789 The American Indians had a poor immigration policy.

@dokala, @K9Kohle789 I am sorry, but every person in the world cannot be allowed to live anywhere they want.

@dokala You can say "white " all you want, and there is something to that, of course. However, The Middle East culture doesn't fit with the West. There is too much difference.

@dokala Sadly, many Muslims don't move here for a better life. They come here to promote Islam because that's what their Holy Book tells them to do. The must be a God that likes to write books sometimes. Really, Give me a break. We should tell all immigrants that have a Holy Book to stay out.

@dokala, @K9Kohle789 Islam is ruining the Middle East, just like it has for 400 years. That backward ideology will ruin the whole world if we let it.

@dokala.I say you must be dreaming .These indoctrinated nut jobs would never be willing or able to be educated out of fear of being ostracized by their family ,community and mainly their pathetic ALLAH . Now please go back to sleep you annoying naive twat.

@granny I concur with your spot on evaluation .ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,

@dokala How can you compare ethnic groups that are not bound by any religious beliefs with a group of people that are defined and bound by a strong religious ideology .Islam is a religion not an ethnicity you imbecile

4

How about expelling everyone of every religious persuasion, and turning it over to us rational atheists.

Then again, some of the questions I've seen here cast doubt on exactly how rational just being an atheist makes one.

Can a person be religious and secular at the same time? I think so. I see Science teachers every day that teach evolution in class to secondary students and the teacher doesn't believe evolution is a fact. These teachers believe in creationism.

@Grecio The best one can say about those teachers is that they're doing their job. The worst one can say is that they're intellectually dishonest.

I can't fathom how anyone who has even studied science, much less teaches it, can believe in the biblical narrative as anything other than a fable; a bedtime story out of our culture's childhood, when we didn't know what thunder was and were afraid of the things that went bump in the night. And I fear for their students, who have to try to learn actual science from teachers who don't believe it themselves.

3

All religions are equally delusional to me. However, christianity and Islam are the ones that have a history of being intolerant of human freedom and extremely violent and belligerent. As long as separation of church and state is strong and effective we have nothing to fear from any religion. But the price of that is constant and relentless vigilance.

There are over 80 comments underneath this poll question. Yet there are only 6 like for thye question. I think this post is like the wildcat making love to the porcupine. People enjoy it about as much as they can stand.

Any and all people who can immigrate legally should be welcomed. In fact, they should be encouraged. We need an infusion of productive people with a drive to "make good" to fuel our economy. No capitalistic nation can survive, much less thrive, without this type of "adrenaline shot". I'd go so far as to advocate replacing the institutionalized welfare slackers with these qualified, legal immigrants.
Bring in the ones with the drive & ambition!
Ship the slackers to the "SandBox"!
👌😎

@ToolGuy
Nice ski boat! I've always thought Mercs are the mos reliable outboards.
So, you made your living babysitting slackers. I see why you might have an interest in keeping institutionalized welfare around.

@ToolGuy
I bow to your expertise.
What then, would you do to get our slacker population into productive lifestyles benefiting both them and our society? 🤔

@ToolGuy
Sounds like you're advocating socialism which seems to simply give away more money to those not contributing to society. And, aren't all the surveys and tests for interest and aptitude already available?

@ToolGuy
So.... I took your advice and briefly read an explanation of this new tangled economic theory. The criticism of it indicated it to be socialism by another name.
No, I don't know the names or uses of various tests these days. I never had a need for help in focusing my life. So, as a counselor, using these tests, what would you estimate your success rate was in guiding individuals to productive lives?

@ToolGuy
I'm far from a scholar.
I completed an MS in Clinical Psychology decades ago as an "acceptable to the military" solution to PTSD. I was told by many psychotherapists & guidance counselors that the success rate was then under 50%. So.... a crap shoot.

@ToolGuy
See... that's why I was never a winner when in Reno.
Did your client population for the most part seek you out for help? That would be a different model than what I saw in Tucson years ago.

@ToolGuy
Ah! A legendary social worker!! 👌😎
Maybe.... a government work program for our "slackers" to repair our aging infrastructure. 20 hours a week to qualify for welfare benefits! Benefits to include 10 hours a week of training for a profession.

@ToolGuy
Sanders is unelectable.

@ToolGuy
BTW ..... who will YOU be voting for in 2020??
😆

@ToolGuy
Exactly. You're a Canadian. Meddling in my country's politics. Kind of "commie" of you I'd say.
👌😆

@ToolGuy
I'd respectfully disagree with your foreign analysis.

@ToolGuy
Jeez! Calm down! I thought we knew each other better than this. You're OK in my book TG. 👌

@ToolGuy
Damn TG. Relax!
I'm a practicing sociopath.... everyone knows this.
So.... thinking back on my checkered life. I don't think politics, as in "what party or who's Prez" has ever affected my personal lifestyle. Its really just Kabuki level entertainment as far as I'm concerned.
To get your pantyhose all twisted up over this is silly. Especially for a foreigner.

@bigpawbullets he's a "commie" because he has an opinion?! Oh, wait, it was an intelligent opinion, so you should not have tried to read it.....here are some aspirins for your headache......

@AnneWimsey
Negative Anne. You're using "Liberal Illogic"
His opinions smack of Communism.
Could I have some Tylenol instead? I'm not able to take aspirin. Thanks.

@ToolGuy
Wasn't that suit coat / sport jacket style back in the 70s?

@bigpawbullets ummm, no they do not, in any way...unless you can explain?

It takes a greater mind to enlighten with civility than to outshout oppositions. Please keep the discussions civil.

It's a rather disturbing post.

@bingst Also disturbing is people saying Islam is a religion of peace.

3

Gee,I am SHOCKED, shocked by the amount of old white guys hating on something they do not understand........

Gee I am shocked ,An old lady shocked by old white guys posting their opinions on a poll.

@godlessguy what you call "opinions" I, and many, many others recognonize as racism, hatred, and xenophobia based on Nothing, any more than the historical demonization & hatred of Italians, Irish, and Chinese immigrants (to name just a few) was detrimental to our country.

@AnneWimsey That’s your opinion and nothing more .

@godlessguy history is Fact, and history teaches us(or should teach you) that "different" is NOT terrible.

@AnneWimsey Your equating hatred towards individuals due to their ethnicity and disparaging remarks aimed at Islam which is a religion is not a valid comparison .

@tiredofthis1 Besides being invalid it is downright stupid

@tiredofthis1 you are confused. I hate generalizations about any group . And to say STUPID generalizations would be redundant,

Trying to protect this country and the people in it is hate??
