Warning: Possible Triggers.

This is mostly aimed at the women, but men can chime in.

How old were you the first time you felt sexualized/objectified by a man or other adult, or had something happen that was "not quite right" or has something inappropriate happen to you or said to you?

Most of us were children at the time.

I was about 10. My dad's boss was a handsy drunk. I've been uncomfortable around anyone who's drinking since.

I was about 9.

As a typical man, you'll be unsurprised to know that has only happened to me once ... I was probably 8 years old and swimming at a friend's house when his mother said, "wow, you've really got the physique". I had to look the word up in the dictionary when I got home; I thought she had identified some disease.

It was only like 20 years later that I remembered that incident and thought, hm, that was a little "off" ...

Well alright twice if you want to count the time the next door neighbor kid, who was my age, tried to induce me to take a dump while he watched.

Seems I only attract pervs ...

Sadly I suspect most women here would love it if that was the sum total of their objectification in life, though.

Thank you for sharing that, and I hope you had better luck after that.

I do not recall ever having anything odd of that nature occurring, one or both of my parents were always with us so it was not until I was around 16 or so and the manager of the Burger King where I worked tried to corner me in the kitchen while cleaning up after closing. He came at me from behind as I was washing ketchup bottles in the sink. I sorta head butted him and jabbed my elbows into his ribs, he backed off real fast. I reported it to the supervisor and he was fired, not for what he did to me but he was caught stealing money. There was lots of that sort of stuff on the job, never told my folks why I'd quit a job they just assumed I was being irresponsible.

I must have been 3? My grandfather(who molested my mother and her sisters) was going to take down my pants and spank me. I don’t recall exactly why, something about a book. My grandma stopped him; she picked me up, shouted at him til he left, and she held me.
I was an adult with children of my own when I learned about what a sexual predator he was. He preferred children but had assaulted a few adult women too. One aunt, he molested from childhood til after she was married. He died a year or so after he tried to take my pants off.
Not sure if that’s the same thing.
Next time wasn’t til I was 13 and a neighborhood man—he was 20’s—started making calls to our house, and if I answered, he’d start explicitly telling me what he was going to do to me next time I walked down the street. I was frozen with fear—I didn’t understand the terms, but his tone was terrifying. My dad called the police and also changed our number to an unlisted one.

So far, my nieces seem to be ok but they're still young. I've seen some of the clothes they sell at the big box stores, girls can be sexualized by well meaning family, pretty much from day one

When I was 16 and started selling shoes.

People with foot fetishes (well some) have zero limits when "shopping" for shoes.

13, traveling to a play at a theatre in London on the Underground. It was only comments, but I'm glad my mother (who, for all her faults, is exactly the kind of woman you'd want in your corner) was with me that day.

My earliest memory of this is when I was about 5.
