I pray that my first post on this website is a success and that it helps me level up to eventually become an Agnostic.com Super Saiyan.
Come up with a funny ending to this sentence:
"If the power of prayer was real, ..."
It wouldn’t make any difference. First, what about all the competing prayers representing competing interests? Two warring sides both praying for victory can’t both win. Also, the gods being prayed to aren’t obliged to act on any of the whiny pleas sent their way, are they? So, maybe the gods exist but enjoy keeping us guessing, and maybe they hear our pathetic begging for shortcuts in life because they just like watching us squirm. My kind of gods!
The Republican Party would be dead and buried in the shameful past.
Trump would be in prison. Trump's enablers would be voted out.
America would have no gun violence. Assault weapons would be outlawed.
Climate change would be reversed.
Oceans, rivers and streams would have no pollution.
Women and children world-wide would be safe from rape and assault.
A girl can dream, right? Meanwhile, I'm registering new voters.
I'm wondering if you are aware of the history of the Democratic Party. It is not nice. Abraham Lincoln had it right.
@dumasarok I'm wondering where you learned your history. Or are you just TRYING to be a smart a*s?
Everybody knows the Republican Party of Lincoln's time is now the Democratic Party, to belabor the obvious. A simplification, as is the fact the Republican Party of today used to be the Democratic Party. At least as far as race politics go.
That's irrelevant.
The Republican Party is now a right-wing extremist organization: racist, misogynist, xenophobic, deny climate change, support logging, fracking and mining in protected areas, poisoning America's air and water, anti abortion, anti union, suppressing minority voter rights, end Social Security and the Affordable Care Act, ad nauseum. It's horrifying.
Look up the 2020 Republican Party platform. Then look up the 2020 Democratic Party platform. Polar opposites.
@LiterateHiker I would agree that there are important issues to be resolved. We probably agree on many of them. I believe that emotionally driven hyperbole is always counter productive and has no power to persuade. If we want to advance toward a political goal it will only be done through calm and well reasoned argument focusing on one specific issue at a time.
@LiterateHiker There seems to be some confusion here. I was responding to a post by Storm1752.
Thanks for the clarification. I will delete my comment.
If the power of prayer was real then one persons prayers would cancel out another persons prayers similar to when two stupid pro football teams pray to win the game against one another
If the power of prayer was real then what happened to gods plan? .Why would religious people pray in the first place if they all say what has occurred or will happen is gods plan ,What do they think that they are going to do,change Gods plan just for them .Lol
Isn't your opening sentence sort of a contradiction in terms?
I interpreted it as sarcasm.
If the power of prayer was real the Muslims desires would have been granted and we the infidels would have been vanquished from the face of the earth .
If it were real I'd be praying for shit all the time. ALL the time.
Would win the lottery.
Have group sex with many women in a jacuzzi.
Would be able to actually heal people prevent death
Don't pray, it won't make any difference... HahahahahaahahahAhahahH
Exactly
The women I fantasize about when I masturbate would have an orgasm too!
I would pray for world peace, end of racism, and equality between men and women.
That would be fantastic
If the power of prayer were real there would be no need for priests or believers wanting to convert you to their mythology.
