These aren't typical Christian views on the matter, those views are seldom based on "scripture."
For many, like Tammy Fey Baker, Heaven is Gods version of Disneyland.
Those views range from the ridiculous to the sublime.
I've found a wider range of views about the afterlife within Christianity then I've found between other religions.
You can clap your hand and chant "I do believe in fairies, I do" the rest of your life and they'll have the exact same chance of showing up as Jesus coming back on a horseback ride with his buddies to save those that suffer from holier then thou'ism.
It's so sad that "adults" remain obstanantly naΓ―ve on purpose.
And all of this is still a tiny drop in the ocean of all the messed up, and contradictory things in that book.
It is enough for me when I think of all the things I thought were true sixty years ago are so irrelevant now... that I tend to pretty much dis-regard any thing believed over two thousand years ago until shown with evidence. But that might just be me.
"And so did the Messiah say unto his Disciples, Think not that I come bearing the Olive branch of Peace for I come bearing the Flaming sword of War and Conflict with which I shall set Brother against Brother, Father against Son for all time until the rivers run red with blood, for I am the Expected One." Translation of the Original Greek version of the New Testament, circa 326 C.E. ( A.D. to those still using the outdated measurement of time).
Very good.
But the religilous will say you do not understand the Bible.
Agreed. They will bring up the judgment of God and the forgiveness of christ. Complete bull.
Or that according to xtians, ALL people of other religions are gonna take a permanent dip in a lake of fire and brimstone (btw wtf is brimstone?). What if muslims are the ones that got it right (of course they are wrong too)? They are so closed off to think for a second they may be wrong. Indoctrination makes little xtian boys want to carry AR15's, and makes little muslim boys want to carry AK47's. I couldn't help it one day at work when all of the right wing idiots I work with started talking about their AR-15s. I told them I was in the Army and had extensive training with that weapon, and asked if any of them had that same training. None of them did. And I told them that they don't have any business having that weapon.
