"I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure."
Often attributed to Mark Twain

'Nuf said...

You know Fauci is sniggering in his head.

11

Oh, FFS.
🙄

9

Tell that to the families of over 200,000 dead, due to his narcissisism..

over 7 million Americans infected. What a mess he has created.

9

I wouldn't wish death on anyone but that said, it's hard to feel any sympathy for trump. Such a vile, horrible person with no heart or soul. Over 200,000 deaths from covid and all he can say is "it is what it is." He lied about the virus and mocks those who wear masks. He has done more damage to this country in less than 4 years more than any foreign country ever has.

8

I'm fine with whatever course the virus takes with trump and family.

8

I believe that the world would be a better place were some people to be removed from it.

Jnei Level 8 Oct 2, 2020

I use to think that the world would be a better place if some people were removed from it. However, there are always those who are essentially no different and are waiting in the wings to replace them.

@ Astralmax I'd agree 100% with that statement . . . . the problem is that humans turn into beasts when they acquire to much power, not one specific human, and it has always been that way.

8

It is what it is.

Oh my. I expected more from you, but that pretty much sums it Up☺

@Cutiebeauty Haha, I didn't mean anything by it, just thought it was an appropriately unempathetic response to mirror his own 😉
I certainly don't wish anyone dead. Kinda goes directly against the whole 'do no harm' thing that drives me.

@Amzungu yes, a neutral comment.. I respect that.. ☺

7

Really? Not Hitler, or Stalin, Pol Pot, ISIS, serial killers, child rapists, and all manner of human monsters? None of them, huh? Well, ain't you a paragon of virtue and tolerance.

What a fine Xian you'd make. They don't think before they speak either.

I love u !

@Pralina1 LOL -- I love you back, Pralina. 🙂

7

Let the virus do its thing. Karma's a bitch.

7

I respectfully disagree. Sometimes the death of a person is the salvation of many more people. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.

@TheMiddleWay
First off, your question sounded general, and I was speaking generally about wishing death.

Secondly, it is possible that his death will cause more voters to realize he led the country wrong on COVID. It may also convince remaining political leaders to treat this more seriously.

@TheMiddleWay i still agree with @Jinx55555555. You didn’t specify that your comment was about Trump.
Also there are circumstances when death is a mercy: when your friend is terminally ill and in so much pain that when the drugs wear off they are begging for more; or your great Aunt gets to the stage where she has dementia and is simply sobbing her heart out every day.

Adolf Hitler is the best example of this.

Bah Humbug!

What's wrong with a wish? People are going to die whether or not we wish them to. Taking pleasure in someone's death is okay. Expressing sadness or joy at someone's death is also okay. I don't think such wishes or thoughts, when publicly shared are considered hate speech. I can see the legal problems with expressing a wish for someone's expedited death, but I don't see a moral problem.

There is no more harm of wishing death than there is good of praying health. But are pointless endeavors.

6

Agree. I will not vote for him but i do not wish death or illness on anyone. Strange days.

6

Nope. That's a very privileged outsider perspective to take. People can wish death on their tormentors all they want. Until you have extensive personal experience with a violent narcissist sociopath or psychopath then your self righteousness is moot. You might as well tell victims of kidnapping and sex trafficking never to wish death on their captors. You don't know how you'd react to all of the above as you've had the good luck of never experiencing any of it. Have several seats.

Also I'm not against others wishing death on terrible people so nothing to rise above for me. Let another narcissistic POS die a slow miserable death.

It is obviously not lost on me. It's referencing an oompa loompa who, as a misogynistic, racist, probably pedophilic, narcissist, does in fact deserve death. But go on championing compassion and love for his kind. Again you're speaking from a place of privilege and you can't even acknowledge as much.

Nope. Your advice and opinion about how you'd react to hypotheticals is useless here. Until you've experienced anything worth wishing death upon someone, keep your crappy holier than thou, christian sounding, advice to yourself. kay? thanks

6

Man, you put out this post and threaten people that they are in violation of the sites rules when they comment.

@TheMiddleWay Nobody here is threatening or encouraging bodily harm to anyone.

Yeah, he's just stirring shit. Holier than thou is not just reserved for xtians.

@TheMiddleWay Then take it up with them directly or is that just not enough for you?

@TheMiddleWay What evidence? So far you've posted no evidence to support your claim.

If you reported them why make this post? Are you trolling for more posters with a "set-up" so you can report more people? Does that make you feel better about yourself? Superior?

@TheMiddleWay Lets be clear here... Your interpretation of the TOS.

6

Wishing and praying have absolutely no effect on anything. Maybe, if doing so will bring you a guilty feeling, then don't do it for your own health; but, doing so has no Karmic retribution, so to speak.

6

I too do not wish death on anyone...however there are deaths which are sad and highly regrettable and then there are certain individuals who by their words and deeds make it impossible for most right minded people to either regret or mourn their passing!

@TheMiddleWay How about he needs to die so we can start a process of healing?

@TheMiddleWay I’m aware of that distinction and as I’ve stated already...I subscribe to the first of these views.

@TheMiddleWay Why not?

@TheMiddleWay So let me see, Germany could heal without getting rid of Hitler and the same for Italy and Mussolini? This country was going down the drain and thousands pf people died because of his insanity. Oh, he's not a bad asshat and everything will be just fine with him still around (not). My body and mind will start to heal when I don't have to worry about this country breaking into a civil war or the pandemic spreading like wildfire or, or, or. No one can heal physically or mentally when a rabid tyrant is on the loose!

5

Yes, I to believe in this.

5

You keep claiming it's against the rules to wish someone dead.
"TOS: The following is a partial list of the kind of content that is illegal or prohibited on the site. Agnostic will investigate and take appropriate legal action in its sole discretion against anyone who violates this provision, including without limitation, removing the offending communication from the service and terminating the membership of such violators. It includes content that: is patently offensive to the online community, such as content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;"

That's wrong, it is not.

There a difference between "wishing" someone dead and "promoting" death or harm to others. You can wish it without advocating others do so. To promote means to actively engage others in that action. Wishing is only expressing your own desire.

You will note that neither meaning cross references the other... @TheMiddleWay your "set-up" and your complaint is bullshit.

@TheMiddleWay Your opinion is not evidence, whereas I have produced evidence for my POV... and as you say... not for you to decide.

You can compare me and others to the religious all day long, doesn't make it so. Again, it's only your opinion, which by the strength, or rather lack thereof, of your claim means nothing.

@TheMiddleWay 🙄

@TheMiddleWay Pompous as usual, MW.

5

I've wished death for several loved ones who was suffering and lingering!

@TheMiddleWay Get over yourself already.

5

We can sometimes control our speech and actions, and should, but never our true feelings, at least not directly. Wishing and voicing our wishes are two distinct domains. I agree it is bad form to give voice to such wishes if they exist.

skado Level 9 Oct 2, 2020

@TheMiddleWay
Exactly.

5

Death nah. Jail time, lots of it Yeah

5

Good for you... millions disagree.

Leelu Level 7 Oct 2, 2020

@TheMiddleWay uh-huh.

5

It's a great sentiment. I have no reason to so I don't.

Wishing someone dead implies a deep hatred and probably a need for vengence or revenge. I try to steer clear of those feelings purely so I can selfishly maintain my own sanity. It is my preferred way to walk through this world.

That said.. I see many instances in this bizarre thing called modern life that would make even the most seasoned stoic's toes curl with delight at the thought of devastating Karma befalling an enemy.

Remains to be seen what I would feel meeting that kind of hate inducing event.
