How about we all just try to agree on something...??? Can we do that?

This should be interesting...

[prageru.com]

You don't have to agree on the political ideals, but how about the personal ideals..??

I get suspicious when we agree too much. It ain’t natural.

NObody said 'agree too much'.. just on some things.. It's just a start to the goal of agreeing on other things... Do you see the association? If we can agree on this, then we can agree on other things... It's just a start on the right path. That's all.. Work with me here, we may be able to get something done.. Oh,,, and tell that assfuck @Dyl1983 to learn some civility, and decorum. Otherwise, he can go fuck himself... 😁 He proves he's not part of the solution, just part of the problem..

@Captain_Feelgood I was being facetious, of course. Our disagreements can be spectacularly melodramatic, but we really DO agree often and on many topics of discussion here. As for commenting on other members, I’m not going there. (Unless all three of us agree it would be either mutually beneficial and/or amusing.)

@The-Krzyz I guess you didn't notice my πŸ˜‚ laughing face to your response.. I pretty much figured you were joking about 'agreeing too much'... But yeah, DYl1983 can block me for all I care... Actually I would prefer he did, then I wouldn't have to see his BS..

@Captain_Feelgood Oops: My bad! πŸ™„

I think most of us on this website can agree that religions are man made and gods don’t exist.

I don't even think we could agree on that. There are a lot of people here who won't agree "gods don't exist".

@JeffMurray that would be a pretty gnostic pov eh

@bbyrd009 Exactly my point.

Well this planet orbits the Sun once every approx. 365 and 1 quarter days, it rotates on its axis once every approximately 24 hours thus giving the impression that the Sun rises and sets which is 100% a false impression btw.
Religions are approx. 1% fiction and 99% Bullshit, humans breed by sexual means, they eat, breath, breed and die.
So how is that for something we can ALL agree upon for starters?

I think there's a lot of reasons for our current divisiveness in this country. I'm not sure if there's any single thing that everyone can agree on because some people aren't mentally well. As for the most important things... like murder is wrong, children should be protected, rape is wrong, slavery is wrong, etc... there are people, cultures, and religions who have very different ideas on these things.

I honestly can't think of anything that I'd believe that everyone would agree on. There are some horrible people in this world... people who would eagerly kill themselves to murder a thousand more, people who would eagerly enslave and rape for power and profit.

So yea... I can't help you on this. I can't think of anything we'd all agree on.

Nah, where's the fun in that.

Seems like over the past 5 years ( longer I’m sure but more so recently), we have lost the art of getting along. Somehow we got to the point that any opposing opinion creates a mortal enemy. Focus has shifted from seeking commonality to highlighting differences. I credit trump for this negative shift, at least he greatly popularized divisiveness.

Ohferpetessake.

Of all the many things I have read on this site, the timing and use of the various iterations of your β€œOh for Pete’s sake” comments are the most eloquent.

@The-Krzyz why,thanku,thanku vurrymuch!

1

My view is simple. The religious cannot agree on anything and that is why we have so many religions. Now take away the religion and you want to think agnostics or atheists could agree. Reality is that the most they can agree on is religious belief. Beyond that we are all just people with opinions.

4

Can we all agree that any belief that is not supported by scientifically verifiable evidence is merely a belief no matter the duration of such belief?

2

We can agree to disagree, not as a point of etiquette but that vicious combat of views creates ideas as surely as natural selection drives the origin of species.

Quixotic and pointless.

6

Well, I would agree with everyone that says everybody is different from one another and it's impossible to agree on everything. Does anyone else see things this way?

Yep. I'll agree to that πŸ˜„

Oh alright then lols.

Yes 100% for sure.

I doubt we could even all agree on that. There are some sort optimistic people. There are even people who think you can reason with Republicans...

I would say that many would agree that your choice of entertainment 1 hour and 21 minutes of "A Dialogue About Ayn Rand and God" is beyond belief. I would like to thank my parents, Ayn Rand and god is a useful example of where to put a comma.

May I suggest:

1.Breathing is good
2. Food can be good
3. Going to the loo when you want is a largely unappreciated joy too

As 3 things we might agree on, (I subscribe to the KISS approach - Keep It Simple SexyπŸ˜‰).

Perverse me offers the following inappropriate response:

  1. Unless you are trying strangle some vile shit that needs to be removed from humanity
  2. Try saying that to an anorexic
  3. Hmm. That is one sh!t of a claim.

@anglophone you’re as bad as me, I counter, it’s easy to be a critic; please improve on my offerings πŸ™‚

@girlwithsmiles The need to breath, eat, drink and defecate is a universal.

P.S. I know KISS as Keep It Simple Sweetheart. I'll also keep yours in mind for the right times.

Getting people to agree on personal ideals is worse than trying to herd cats. Narcissists are psychologically incapable of agreeing to the notion of helping people who are less fortunate than themselves.

3

probably not
