Got a wee bit of quandary here.
Just heard from Evangeloon re- the weekly payment of $20.00 as per the Court Orders.
He will be paying it regularly as ordered but asked IF I'd consider letting him mow my lawns and keep my yard tidy once per fortnight or month in exchange for 1 payment each garden and yard cleaning session.
My somewhat devious mind is telling me to go with since I'd have the immense PLEASURE of watching a Bible-Thumper work his arse off for MY Benefit.
What do you think I should do,take up his offer or stick with the present status quo?
You can't allow any variation with a jeezus psycho. If you give an inch he'll take a mile.
Quandary solved, staying with the Payments as Ordered by the Court, have found a young bloke, unemployed, eager to get a bit of work and earn some money who will do the lawns once per fortnight for $30.00 plus a decent mid-job tea/coffee break and some home-made snacks to go with them.
Big Plus, He is also an Atheist and his parents and I have been friends for about 15 + years as well.
The cash payments, as per the court.
Yep, decision made, payments as per court, found a young bloke who is unemployed, wants to earn a bit of extra money, is an Atheist and his parents and I have been friends for 15 +years.
@Triphid Much better choice.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Talk about eager, he just rang and wants to do the lawns tomorrow morning, likes his coffee white with 2 sugars so he tells me.
White with 2, hot enough to be too hot to drink straight away and a batch of pumpkin scones are in the oven cooking as I type as well.
@Triphid Sounds like a good deal for both of you.
Given you live in a hot climate, it would depend on how much you actually like working in your yard in the heat. If you don’t mind the yard work, you could put the $40 a month to better use I would imagine.
When it comes to the heat of summer I usually do yard work in either the early mornings or late evenings.
Mow the lawns about once per months around 8-9 am in summer, never had any complaints about it from the neighbours thankfully.
When I think about it, that $40 would just about cover getting someone in to the job every month or so and then I'd know the job would done properly as well.
I would suggest sticking with the payments but give him $20 to mow the lawn after the job is done.
If you find engaging with him is entertaining then continue to involve yourself. Personally I would have nothing to do with him. But I see it gives you "immense PLEASURE": thusly enjoy the debacle that will ensue.
Engaging in conversation with Evangeloon is, imo, about the same as holding a discussion with stone wall, you get the same result and find you've exhausted yourself for nothing anyway.
He will mow it once or twice & then stop, never to mow again, and your attempts at getting the payments re-started will get laughed out of chambers.
Don't do it!
I have given this some thought: make the bugger pay you in cash. If, in 12 months' time, you are inclined to employ him as a lawn-keeper, employ him at an hourly rate of your own choosing.
I would stick with the $20 payment schedule. That way, everything is clear, and he can't gaslight you into wondering if he did enough work to be worth the $20 or not.
Precisely.
