So why are women disgusted by men with...uuuhh, platinum (silver? gray?) hair? Just because we look old doesn't mean we are old...much.
It could be an evolutionary thing, gray hair is a sign of aging and aging can be perceived as a lack of virility. Although this doesn't seem to be the case for the Silverback in a troop of gorillas, so who knows if it isn't just personal preference?
Personally, I've been shaving my head bald in the hotter months ever since I worked in the Caribbean and found it was 5 degrees cooler under my hard hat if my head was shaved. What I found interesting is that there are some women that are fascinated by a shaved head and I have many women ask me if they could touch my head and by touch I mean run their fingers in a caress over my head, often followed by a little shiver that is clearly sexual in nature. Maybe you need to break out the hair clippers and the razor, just watch out for sunburn on your pate as it is really painful.
Gray or silver hair is sexy on men and women both.
I'd bet it's not so much the hair, but everything that's under the hair.
@Connolly42 A little sensitive? My comment was a general response to your general comment about silver hair on men. How was I to know you were talking about yourself only? It's a big world out there and there are others with silver hair. Most here have confirmed... it's NOT the hair color. My response was correct. Sheesh.....
I don't know about other women, but I'm not disgusted by silver or gray hair. It is a natural part of getting older. I am more interested in the person, not how much hair they have or what color it is.
Who exactly is "disgusted" by natural? What is truly awful is comb-overs, bad hair color, and wigs! Men Never get those things looking right, or even good. If some woman wants you to "fussy up" for her, Run! White hair is fabulous! (Note my picture, lol!)
When men go gray they are considered "distinguished" and women are just considered over the hill. The color of a man's hair does not determine how attracted I am or am not, but how he wears it. A Duck Dynasty beard of any color is a huge turn-off. How much a man bothers about his appearance is more of an indicator than hair color or even lack of hair.
That's pretty funny. Maybe.... you're chasing the wrong gals. I'm 68 years young, pretty gray... in fact, if you look up the definition of "graybeard" in a Webster''s dictonary... (anyone still have one of those?), you'll see my picture. So, subtle hint here:
Go to the local grocery store (Kroger) in my area.
Dress "business casual".
Grab a cart and put these few items in it:
Bottle of good Chardonnay.
Bottle of good Cabernet Savingon.
Several small blocks of gourmet cheese.
Imported gourmet crackers or French bread.
Now, wander around the meat/fish counters looking puzzled. Maybe occasionally stare at your shopping list. You will be amazed at how many ladies will stop to "help" you out.
NOTE: I'M MARRIED. I did this once to show my lovely wife this technique. Before she watched from a discreet distance the results of about 45 minutes of me "looking puzzled and in need of help", she didn't believe me.
There.... go try it. And glory in your distinguished "Silverness".
I am disgusted by men who spit on the sidewalk, silver hair or no hair.
Bollox...men with grey hair can be dead sexy...stop digging for compliments!
@Connolly42 yep! I'm.a Lancashire lass thats what we do
I've known men with silver hair in their 20s. Not an issue.
I don’t feel that’s true in my case, and I tend to enjoy a smooth bald head too. So my friends think I’m weird ( not only because of my affection for balds ) I personally use hair dye because I don’t like my gray hair. I think socially it’s more acceptable for a female to dye her hair, but do what you want! It’s just hair! If you don’t like the new color it cut it off!
I don't know where you are meeting these women but personally I think gray is super sexy!
Going grey doesn’t bother me, it’s the thinning hair at the top of my head that’s the issue.
my greatest fear was going bald, I always had a high forehead even as a kid, to I am happy to be grey/white mostly now. At least I still have my hair.
@Rugglesby that’s the dream
It isn't women. It is another marketing ploy to make men feel that they have to 'fix' themselves. Women have gotten hit with that marketing forever. If you are cool with yourself it won't matter what anyone thinks anyway. And if you are not cool with yourself there is no Grecian formula that can help you.
