I shook hands with Trent Reznor at a Lords of Acid concert when I was 19. His hair fell in my face as he leaned in to hear my name. I could have died a happy woman! I've also met Stephen Root "I believe you stole my stapler" from Office Space at the New Orleans airport. He was super nice. Met Freddy Rodriguez from 6 Feet Under while he was getting a to-go order at a restaurant I worked at while filming in our town, and also met Diedrich Bader (actor/comedian) while he was filming nearby. He was drunk and friendly. And very tall!
Depends on what you deem a celebrity, I've met many well known scientist and outspoken atheist activists. People who are on TV or movies don't interest me though some musicians do and quite a few comedians. But pretty much all the people on my list of people who I want to meet are scientists, of whom I have met quite a few, even shared a dance floor with Lawrence Krauss, got to hang with Bil Nye, shook Neil Degrasse Tyson's hand, spent some time with Jerry Coyne, spoke to Richard Dawkins. Still really want to meet Brian Cox and Sean Carroll.
Yes, I know, I'm a nerd. But I've shaken Donald Trumps hand and I was not impressed then and I'm less impressed now.
@Redcupcoffee limp. I was part of an episode of Celebrity Apprentice. That's me in the corner and Trump right in the center.
@Redcupcoffee I did not take advantage of the photo op, had no interest in having a photo with him, though I was there with coworkers and they did. The picture is a screenshot from the episode I worked on, I am a display designer and did the 7-up display for their challenge.
Eeww! Did you sanitize your hand after? =0}
Richard Karn (Al Borland of Home Improvement). Met at a High School reunion for a woman I was dating. He seems to enjoy people and making them happy. As far as I can tell he uses his celebrity for worthy causes. But that's impressions from a 30 minute acquaintance. I hope he can maintain a positive personality for longer than that, I know I would find it difficult.
About 5 yrs ago I was at the bar at a restaurant in my neighborhood I used to walk to for a glass of wine when my boyfriend had to work weekends. There was a basketball game going on and there was a man a few chairs down the bar from me who was interested in it. He was rather attractive I noticed as he'd glance and smile at me every once in a while as he was also listening to the funny story that I was telling the bartender who knew me as a regular. Then, as time went on the man started making comments to me about the game or responding to something I said. He turned to smile at me and then stopped watching the game and turned to me to chat. He asked where I was from and asked what I did for work since I was talking about work with the bartender. I noticed the young man appeared to have mascara on. I thought it odd. I asked him what he was doing in New Mexico and he told me he was here on business. He wasn't terribly chatty, but it seemed he was interested in speaking with "the locals " and asked questions as such. Then, a woman walked up to him and whispered something to him that I couldn't hear. She then stood next to the man and took a selfie of them together. After that he paid his tab and said that it was nice meeting me and chatting with me, shook my hand good bye and he left. A group at a table who were apparently watching him and watching me got my attention and I turned toward the table. A young woman in the group said "I know why he liked you. You are a very pretty lady!". I didn't understand and a young man in the group asked me if I knew who the man was. I said that I didnt. The young woman shouted out "He was Jason Priestley!". I didn't know him, though I'd heard of his celebrity. You see, I never watched a single "Beverly Hills 90210". I did not own a TV for 18 years. During the years of when that show was popular.
I did hair for a few: Patricia Neal, Jill Ireland, Spanky McFarlan, Maria Muldaur. Pitched a screenplay to Gary Buesey while his wife to be was having her nails done at Neumann Marcus salon. Met George C Scott at an after party for his one man show of Clarence Darrow. Smoked peyote with Peter Max. Met Brenda Lee and the Statler Brothers backstage at a concert in Clarksville, TN. Did Elizabeth Wurtzel's hair. Met Jet Williams (Hank Williams daughter) and Henry Thomas backstage at a Louisiana Hayride reunion in Shreveport. Met Hillary Clinton briefly at a fundraiser in Dallas. Ran into Ross Perot in an elevator. There are a bunch more and a lot of minors.
I've been to several Star Wars conventions specifically to meet members of the cast and crew and been backstage at several heavy metal concerts, most notably Metallica. As far as random run-ins, at the restaurant where I work I met super model Nikki Taylor and her then fiance (now husband) NASCAR driver Bernie Lamar, as well as pro wrestler Ivan Koloff (RIP).
Very few but my mother's, brother's grandson is Derek Gripper who is a friend on Facebook and I get little glimpses of his life as he toursvthe world playing African music on his guitar.Google him if your interested.

Smith, Danica Patrick, Melky Cabrera, Kevin Powell (at one of my exes school - got a signed book from him), Keith Sweat, Tim Tebow, Rihanna, Keith David (at one of my exes school reunions), Mone Divine (porn star - tiny as hell - on the phone outside so I didn't bother her) and some I've forgot. I missed out on Tracy Morgan who supposedly was outside my previous job sitting on the top of his car messing around lol
Some I've had short conversations with, and some I've just been in their general vicinity.
A couple of friends and I were at a park playing baseball years ago and we were looking outside the gate and there were 3 crossdressers on the sidewalk and we were wondering what was going on. One of them turned around and asked if we've never seen (I forget the terms he used) before. Anyway, it was John Leguizamo, Patrick Swayze, and Wesley Snipes. They were filming "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" at the warehouse across the street.
Terry Ferril from Deep Space 9, et. al. at a Star Trek convention.
Film score composer and founder of Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman at the same Star Trek convention.
Frank Zappa at a formal dinner at my college fraternity.
Walking out of a 7-11, Tommy Kaverick from Kamelot and Seventh Wonder.
The current line up of Dragonforce at a meet and greet prior to their show in Denver.
I and a friend were honorary "guides" for Lee Majors at the Grand National Quail hunt in Enid back when I was in like 4th grade. So old Steve Austin himself shoots a deer out of season and offers my friend and I $50 apiece to remain silent. We took his money and turned him in anyway because he was a dick. A few years later he tried to "pick up" my 15yo soon to be and later ex wife in a club called the 300 inside a bowling alley. She was in there getting quarters for a video game.
Ate breakfast with Dub Taylor at the cafe in Hennessy, OK.
met Dale Robertson (a 50's - 60's actor) a few times as he was my step grandma's old boyfriend from Harrah
a flamingo bit me on the behind in a Cannes Hotel lobby and when I jumped away I ran into Ben Gazzara.
been around and spoken to Toby Keith a few times as we both had kids playing T-ball at Buck Thomas (12th Street) park in Moore, OK.
There's a few more but they're mostly sports and walking by Shirley McClain and Linda Evans in Cannes while noticing their horri personal hygiene out loud.
I gave James Doohan a ride in my car once. ok that sounds weird
I met Tom Hanks and his wife and son at a wedding. Steve Forbes came to my company to ask the CEO for a contribution, and he and I relieved ourselves in adjacent urinals. I encountered John Lennon and Harry Nilsson, both thoroughly drunk, at a night club in Philly. I say next to Slim Pickens on a flight from Denver to Wyoming. And I shook hands with Gary Hart, Wilt Chamberlain, and John Kerry, all on separate occasions.
I was friends with Harry's son Zac. After John died Harry and Ringo-Zac's father were best buds-here's pic at Ringo's house with Zac, Harry and my ex husbands band-1994

Whoa, that is so cool!!
William Shatner. Almost nose to nose. I did not address Him as I would any other I may chance to meet. They get that FANatic reaction all of the time. If they were at a public meeting where their presence was the point, I would behave differently.
I would hate to be famous. Were it my misfortune to be so, I would hope more of my "fans" would think like that as well. Oh, As I think of it, I have met others.
It is to us to grant the priviledge. Sometimes I refuse to acknowledge. Nothing personal. Latest... less than 2 weeks ago I flew on the same small plane as jeb bush. Miami-Jacksonville. Ignored. In a different story line, he could be president by now and then again....
