The cryptic coloration (and excellent camouflage) vs. the flashy hindwings of an underwing moth. This is one of Pennsylvania's larger species, the Ilia underwing (Catocala ilia).

Palo Verde Beetle got its back leg caught in some old spider webbing. I cut him loose and got a few pictures before he went on his way.

Another beautiful and fearsome wasp. A mud dauber maybe? It was investigating a black widow nest. I read that the wasp hunts for black widows.
