You often see them in tree hollows at night. Just know that tree hollows are habitat for birds and other animals. Cats that use them have usually displaced a native species. I remember going for a cull at night using thermal imaging and was amazed how many of them were in tree hollows. A beautiful animal but as an introduced predator, deadly.
Please keep your cats inside at night and get them neutered.
