Nimitz was trying to play with other cats through the window, so I got Emily for him to play with. They were just settling in together when Nimitz suddenly got sick and died less than a week later, with no diagnosis.
So then, even though I had no mourning time, I had to get a friend for Emily, who HATES being alone. And, thanks to my inability to say no to a good sob story, ended up with 5 cats.
I'll be down to four again soon. I took in a 16 year old who is now 18. Ashley came to me Deaf, but her cataracts are getting so much worse that she's basically going blind too. She's in diapers because she can't find the litter box very well, and has arthritis. Pretty sure her final vet visit is coming with my next paycheck.

Posted by LaurenIt would be warmer for us both if he'd get on my lap, but it has to be his idea - though he still likes to stay close.
