The unfortunate topic of cat constipation. My cat (age unknown but guessing about 10+) now suffers from occasional constipation. I've had to take him to the vet a few times over the last few years to get him pooping again. I've been adding Miralax to his wet food along with some water but too much of either one and he won't eat it. He was never a big drinker of water but if he was I don't think he would be having this problem. Any suggestions as to what to do to try to get him to drink more? Is there something to add to the water? I've tried a water fountain but he has no interest. Also, I may be gone some days for 12 hours for work which results in him eating dry food after he finishes the wet food I leave out for him. I would feel bad not leaving him the dry food otherwise he wouldn't have any food for too many hours. I also don't have anyone (or want) to have come over to check on him while I'm gone. He is also a little finicky with what he eats. Just yesterday I left him alone for 12 hours and came home to see he didn't eat any of the wet food only the dry was eaten. This is frustrating. Any suggestions?
Rocky went through a bought of constipation, after trips to the vet, Kate, put a little mineral oil in his wet food, she also gave him Laxatone I think she gets it from Chewy. This worked Rocky would walk across the. Room and ask for the Laxatone.
Thanks but I forgot to mention that I've tried Laxatone and he refuses to take it just spitting it out. One vet did not recommend mineral oil though I don't know why. I have to do more research on that.

Posted by LaurenIt would be warmer for us both if he'd get on my lap, but it has to be his idea - though he still likes to stay close.
