My cat will dip her foot into my watering jug (for watering houseplants) and then lick the water off her paw. I have fresh water out for them every day, but she likes the challenge.

I have a kitty fountain in my bedroom and bowls in other rooms. I still have one cat who prefers the toilet and one who prefers a dripping faucet when they can persuade us to accommodate their desires.

My cat Bobby loves to drink out of the faucet by cupping his paw in the running water and bringing it to his mouth to drink it. If I pour him a cup of water he walks away and gives me a look of disdain.

I have a cat that loves to play in the water. I used to fill the bathroom sink with some water thinking that she might play with that instead of the water bowl. She lost that privilege because she made too big of a mess too many times.

We've a reverse osmosis water filter / tap on our kitchen sink. Ours have learned how to press the lever enough to get a drink.
