My black cat, Max died last year after being with me for 14 years. I miss his playfulness and affection every day.? He was a cuddler who was like having a living heating pad. ?
I love my black cat. She's a lover, feisty, but a lover nonetheless.
Actually there isn't much stigma these days - but there are a ton of black cats that need adopting! And they are hard to photograph and may get looked over for that reason.
This photographer managed a great picture though. I have a painting of my black cat Boo. He's gone a long time but I have my painting.
@Booklover That's Raz on the right. I hope to get some better photos of him as I just got a nicer camera. It's hard but that's not why I got him!
I've had two tuxies (and when they tuck in their paws they look full on black) and it just never occurred to me as a superstition. When I've spoken to shelter workers they do worry about Halloween - but otherwise there doesn't seem to be that superstition anymore.
The lady at the rescue did hug the stuffing out of me with Raz because he'd been part of an outdoor hoard and wasn't social at all.
He is now a lap cat and no longer a scaredy cat.
