[petpoisonhelpline.com] On another posting today I was asked if you can induce vomiting in cats with Hydrogen Peroxide. I have done that with my dog in the past, but I've never had to induce vomiting in cats. So my google search turned up some really good information. With the holidays upon us and "interesting" things around, be vigilant with your fur babies.

I do not know about cats. When my dog got into a certain sugar-free gum the same treatment was recommended by the vet. Also a acid prevention table was recommended. I used a funnel. Nothing was "fun" about it. If your vet has seen your cat, I have noticed if you know what they have gotten into they may give advice over the phone. Note: I live in the Midwest U.S.A., other people's mileage may vary.

My dog ate some Girl Scout badges that were stapled to a piece of paper. How is that for random, loved that dog but OMG he was a vacuum cleaner at times. So, staples in the badges, I wanted them out. I made a peanut butter sandwich and doused it in Hydrogen Peroxide. He vacuumed that down as well. I sent him out to the yard, and within a few seconds/minutes he was hurling his toenails. We found the remnants of the badges, but no way was I going to look for staples. My dog also once ate paper towels that had been drenched in hydrogen peroxide and laid on stains in the carpet. It is a great stain remover. He was the best dog ever except for his tendency to eat anything!
