I'm so torn on ferals. I hate the impact they have on small wild animals, but I love cats.
A few years ago, I was feeding one regularly. It was a beautiful long-haired tabby. She wouldn't let me or anyone get close to her for over a year. Suddenly one day while I was sitting on my porch, she jumped onto my lap and went to sleep.

There's a cat just like this one that I see frequently. I believe he/she belongs to a neighbor though. It makes me sad that they let their cat out in the winter.
