We had a guinea pig at one time, & we'd put a leaf of lettuce on the floor for her, & the cat would ''hide'' behind the leaf.

Had a cat that would stick his head under a table. Any height. But, tail, body visible. He thought he was hiding. One time, he got lost in the house. He was sitting, facing the corner. I don’t want to say he was dumb, but ....
