My daughter lay down for a nap after a dental visit and woke with FPS - Feline Paralysis Syndrome, the inability to move because cats are sleeping on you. She got no sympathy from me.

Ha ha ha! That is great. The more you love them, the more severe the symptoms.

I'm not certain if there have been any formal medical studies, but there is certainly a lot of anecdotal evidence.
