1958, Cat experiencing weightlessness.
First tests to see affects of this phenomenon.
The pilot did not survive. Cat went on to senior executive position with the newly formed organization, NASA. Cat was placed in charge of "non-human test subject selection" department. Thereafter, only dogs, mice, and primates were subjected to weightlessness.
my father participated in sending cats into space 1966-1971
Poor cat must have been scared half to death.
I know I would have been.
Most "Aviation" stories start with;
"There I was, 30,000 feet,......"
And in with;
"Was I scared? You bet I was!!"
