My cat berates me vociferously when I’m gone longer than 10 hours. She is always happy to see me and will “talk” back when I talk to her. She is more affectionate than most humans. In fact, I saw my ex husband for the cold narcissist that he is because of how she’d greet me, want to sit next to me and showed me such obvious love which had nothing to do with whether her food bowl was filled or litter box cleaned.
