A few days ago, I picked up Zoe. She apparently did not want to be picked up. She scratched my arm and snarled. Six nasty scratches. One scratch is about six inches long, barely missed the main vein in my wrist. Thank god she missed that vein - would have been a trip to E.R. and stitches and a big co-pay. I bust my butt to support her - good food, fresh water, clean litter and lots of toys. This is how she thanks me. I told her to her face that she is a bad cat. She sat there and purred, like that will make it all better. Sigh.
Kiri doesn't like to be picked up....so I don't. I pet her where she is.
You didn’t ask permission to pick her up, did you?
You should pay attention to those scratches. Cat scratches infect easily. Clean them well and consider anti-biotic ointment, if you have not yet done so.
Heal quickly. And, don’t startle your boss. ?
I did not ask permission to pick her up. So .... I learned something.

Posted by LaurenI thought this was an accurate representation of how we feel every time we remember our last cat, which happens often when my daughter and I laugh over our current cat's antics.
