I love my cats, but they are mostly for entertainment. My dog was trained to hand signals, voice commands, and he was the best every door bell. He was just so excited to have visitors! Training a dog to do tricks and respond to signals is lots of work, I was a SAHM and had the time, and needed a well behaved dog, he was big and I had small relatives that visited. You get the dog you work for and he was the son I never gave birth to. I don't have time for a dog now.
Actually, that's not true. Cats are smarter than dogs, and they are able to learn tricks, understand a considerable number of words (not only English, but other languages as well, same as dogs), and use deductive reasoning. I teach cats how to do High Fives, Sit, Spin, Jump through Hoops, High Tens, and a few other things in the Jackson Galaxy Cat Pawsitive Pro program.
I'm not surprised to hear that. My guess is that most cats just don't give a shit and that's why they appear to be less intelligent and trainable than dogs. Cats would rather nap than learn tricks...
Yes!
My cats are too intelligent for their own good!!!
The male wakes me up at between 5:45 to 6:15, if I do not get he comes back every five minutes until I get out of bed!
They all have different ways of telling me when they want out it, is time to be let outside, when they are going to use the litter box, the male will only go outside to poop and pee!
They always tell me when they want to play, be petted, pampered, and when they want to lay on my lap and sleep next to me when I sleep!
Want a treat!!!
They know me better than I know myself at times!!!
They keep me sane!!!
They are my service cats!!!
They have sure changed my life for the better!!!
This cat looks like a cranky old recluse...A cynical middle-aged curmudgeon...The really narrow pupils in the eyes are usually the sign of a cat that is very angry...
We consider our pets smart , when they learn English language words . How many of our pet language words do you understand ?
Bow Wow.. Ruff... Translation please...
@Cutiebeauty When's dinner, I'm hungry. I need to go for a walk, hurry.

Posted by LaurenI thought this was an accurate representation of how we feel every time we remember our last cat, which happens often when my daughter and I laugh over our current cat's antics.
