They lack significant long-term OR short-term memory. You can make them get off the bed and they are not going to hold it against you. They probably won't remember it ten minutes later. They will get off the bed, particularly if you have treats. Keep some next to your bed; you can throw them at the doorway and then scramble out of bed when they dash after them.
