My favourite cat story... We had garlic bread with dinner, there were some leftovers, during the evening we saw a mouse run across the living room floor. The cat's hardly noticed. We think it went into the Lazy Boy, but we couldn't find it.

Woke up in the morning to find the dead mouse and a piece of garlic bread between us on the bed, and two very proud cats looking at us.

How often can you say your cats brought you breakfast in bed? Too bad this was before smartphones with cameras! One of life's "moments."

I've amazed my family with what I know about cats, namely cats are not as "independent" as a lot of humans think. I presently have a cold and the night before last I finally decided that trying to sleep in my bed was not all that productive for getting rest. I left my two cats in my bed and went into the livingroom where there is a comfortable stuffed chair. When I awakened, there were my two cats.

I have had dogs that I loved as a kid, really my parents did, but I enjoy the indepence of cats, indoors, nothing to worry about, just change the litter box every morning, which was in my toilet room, so I called it "poop and scoop." Now I have no options because I travel so much, but my landlord/friend/neighbor has two cats, one of which is with me when I am home.

Usually not as needy and hyper-social as dogs, more independent, able to be on their own for longer if needed, softer fur, purring...
