Right after I got out of the Navy, I was living in Sylmar, CA, and was going somewhere on Foothill Blvd. There was a black kitten in the middle of the street on Foothill, which is a main street in Sylmar. The kitten was terrified, and didn't know what to do. I stopped and managed to catch her before she got run over. Named her Anthracite, because she looked like a tiny lump of coal. She turned out to be a great cat. Thanks for the memory.
