Both of our cats when they come in from outside immediately go the scratching post and scratch at it, as if they are wiping their feet after coming in. It's really cute. I was jut wondering if anyone else's cat(s) "wiped their feet" in a similar way?
Allowing cats outside decreases their life expectancy by about 70%
Life expectancy of indoor-only cats: about 16 years
Life expectancy of indoor-outdoor cats: about five years
See for yourself:

The last three indoor/outdoor cats all lived toi be at least 16.
We tried to make the cats indoor only cats, but they had their own ideas.
@snytiger6 Life expectancy deals with averages, not your three cats. The cats I've helped rescue number in the thousands. Of those, a fair number were strays. Others were cats surrendered by people who allowed them outside. We turn them into indoor-only cats because of the clear dangers of allowing them outside. They accept it: new roof, new rules.

Posted by LaurenI thought this was an accurate representation of how we feel every time we remember our last cat, which happens often when my daughter and I laugh over our current cat's antics.
