So, the boy car was downstair meowing constantly, and so I go down to see what is up. He leads me over to the dry food dish and starts eating. He just wanted someone to watch him eat.
I wonder if he thinks the dish woudl be empty, if someoen wasn't there to watch.

In the wild, cats would buy unfinished food. Probably to keep flies and insects off of it.
Our girl cat does the cratch around the food as if to bury it too.
I've been taught by the cats I've been owned by over the years, they want company while they eat. Sometimes they want petting in between eating.

The boy cat (Jamgo) likes to be petted while he eats.
Someone a while back said this same thing (sorry, I forget who or when) - their cat would not eat unless someone was in the room with them. My cat is exactly the opposite. She waits for me to leave!
